Great news. Does anyone know what the status of the UM opt-outs are? Assuming Mayfield is gone. Nico probably playing. Has Ambry Thomas made any decisions?
September 16th, 2020 at 9:29 AM ^
My understanding was that Thomas was not playing with or without season. Im not sure why, maybe nagging injury?
September 16th, 2020 at 9:34 AM ^
Wouldn't want to put himself at risk for COVID having dealt with colitis the year prior.
September 16th, 2020 at 10:01 AM ^
Also, treatment for that requires taking an immunosuppressant.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:30 AM ^
Would expect announcements from such players to be forthcoming.
September 16th, 2020 at 10:10 AM ^
Ambry hasnt been on campus since the postponement. Think it’s safe to say he’s done.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:29 AM ^
That sounds like uncle frank and aunt jack from Mrs Doubtfire
September 16th, 2020 at 9:27 AM ^
Amazing news. Go blue!
September 16th, 2020 at 9:27 AM ^
Wonderful news, of course the opener will be when I'm in the UP unable to be near a TV.

Upvote ALWAYS for Fred Sanford memes and gifs!

Where are all those people who said no way a season will happen this year? That it was impossible to have a season. I think including more than half the employees of this site if i recall.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:29 AM ^
Think they were relying on science. The fact is that 10/24 is still 5.5 weeks away. Plenty of time for cases to explode and games to be canceled.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:32 AM ^
congrats, you just asked the least interesting question that can be asked..
September 16th, 2020 at 10:11 AM ^
Rapid testing changed things.
September 16th, 2020 at 10:30 AM ^
It changed the perception of things not the reality. The big ten always had test options.
September 16th, 2020 at 10:14 AM ^
I don't care who said what as it will all be water under the bridge. I hope that we can root for success for this upcoming season. Obviously, this isn't happening based on comments I have read thus far but hey, they didn't have vote on this so let 'em vent and predict gloom and doom.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:28 AM ^
The earliest a student-athlete can return to game competition is 21 days following a COVID-19 positive diagnosis.
pretty good incentive for player and team discipline right there.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:28 AM ^
Can’t lose 4 games if you play 8! Hopefully

Tough day for the MGo corona bros. Go Blue.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:40 AM ^
Sad that so many posters here are going to have to miss the games because they're so disgusted by it all
September 16th, 2020 at 10:15 AM ^
Sad but true so we don't need these Debbie Downers.
September 16th, 2020 at 10:37 AM ^
Yupp poster SF Blue or Blue in DC shall not be allowed to watch any michigan football until it is safe!
September 16th, 2020 at 9:35 AM ^
Vote was unanimous - Even Rutgers prez saw the light after all!
September 16th, 2020 at 10:27 AM ^
Apparently it is very important to the B1G that they show a united front.
September 16th, 2020 at 10:31 AM ^
He should get checked for whiplash.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:36 AM ^
I wonder how long before schedules are released?
September 16th, 2020 at 9:36 AM ^
Now I begin thinking that we might beat Ohio State this year only to be crushed in the end. Such is life, Go Blue!
September 16th, 2020 at 9:41 AM ^
FUCK YES IT IS ONNNNNNN!!!!!!
September 16th, 2020 at 9:44 AM ^
They could have just delayed the start of the season and given themselves a month before having to make the go/no-go decision, but noooooooo, they just had to cancel the fall season August 11 and then boldly claim they wouldn’t revisit it. If it’s safe to play in late October, then it would have been safe to play in late September. I’m glad we’re going to get at least some football this fall, but I think the B1G handled this very poorly.

Weekend after my wedding, giggity
September 16th, 2020 at 9:47 AM ^
Do we know what the schedule looks like?
September 16th, 2020 at 10:41 AM ^
We play Wisconsin, Minnesota, PSU twice, then oSu 4x.
September 16th, 2020 at 9:50 AM ^
So excited... finally something to watch besides the NBA and NFL. Still a big fantasy football guy but can do without the SJW statements. But I cannot wait for Saturday's. I am not going to call out the users by name but I hope you know who you are (those adamant about not playing this fall). You shall not be allowed to watch or support! Because the team doesn't want yours, so no football for you! GO BLUE BABYYYYY
September 16th, 2020 at 10:30 AM ^
Oh boy. That username is gonna get you a one-way to Bolivia. Byeeeeee

September 16th, 2020 at 10:50 AM ^
AHHA Yuppp... Does James Bond really have herpes? If so which one (Connery, Craig, Brosnan or Moore)?
September 16th, 2020 at 10:54 AM ^
i dunno, did Hillary Clinton really kill Jeffrey Epstein?
September 16th, 2020 at 11:33 AM ^
It seems that she might have! I think there's a chance James Bond caught an STD along the way and a decent chance Hillary had something to do with JE "suicide". We will never know...
September 16th, 2020 at 6:37 PM ^
Hope you enjoyed your few short hours on the MGoBoard.
Bye-bye, troll!
September 16th, 2020 at 9:54 AM ^

I'm all in! Go Blue and good luck!

Great News. I was hoping they would start earlier than October 17th , not later.
But still, Big Ten College football !!!
