Michigan belongs!

It seems Oklahoma St should in the Top 4. Some insiders are saying they will be if they beat Baylor.

Look, if you are doing a very weird stat..top 40?? wins..either include the full top 10 or better show how this makes Michigan a top 4 team.

The CFP and pretty much everyone agrees that UM is #2. Not sure how this stat further shows that we belong where we already are.

The formatting here is crap, and I really don't have any idea what its supposed to be telling me.  All I can see is that Georgia = 666.  So that seems right...

I went to the tweet and realized I missed the "FPI Sag SP+" text. The table is the number of wins by each team against Top 40 teams as defined by each metric.

Team          FPI     Sag     SP+

Georgia       6          6         6

Michigan     4          3         5

Alabama     8          7         6

Cincy           1          1         1

OK St           3           4         3

ND               3           2         1

Oklahoma State will be in the top four if they beat Baylor and all of the other favorites win. Alabama would drop out of the top four with a loss to Georgia, which leaves the #5 Cowboys as the obvious beneficiaries. It requires no insider information to see that.

The one thing they absolutely don’t want — along with the rest of us — is an Alabama win. Then they would need another upset among the top group, or they would need to hope that the Committee would leapfrog them over Cincinnati.

Part of me can’t help but wonder if the committee would still consider Alabama if they lose a really close, hard fought game against Georgia. I think they’d deep down inside consider them a better team than Cincy, but at the same time I don’t think they would want to punish Georgia by forcing them to play Bama again and you’d have to put Bama in the 4 spot at that point, especially if Ok St wins.

Ah, just win Michigan.

That really was the main reason I posted this, Cincinnati's very weak strength of schedule.

And the most telling thing about how Cincinnati is a fraud is how they struggled with most of those out of the Top 40 teams. They even gave up 3 very long TD drives in the 2nd half (a 12 play 75 yard drive, a 1 play 80 yard bomb, and a 16 play 98 yard drive in the 4th qtr) of the South Florida game. And Cincy is supposed to have a tough D. South Florida has the #102 offense. Ridiculous! Michigan would walk up and down the field all day on Cincinnati. Any top team would.

Nah, 40 seems pretty random.  Did the person look at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, etc and decide hey I got something that meets my narrative here at 40...which I think is to show Cincinnati doesn't belong?  Top 10 or 25 is pretty standard, but maybe it didn't make Cinci look bad enough?

I dunno beat Iowa!
