My older son (the former indie filmmaker) has taught me how to look through bad editing to see the creativity that was attempted. This was awful in a wonderful way - and I loved it. ;-)

Nice attempt, but doesn’t quite work. Day as Marvin is no good because Marvin was the informant. Day is the idiot hiding in the back. (You’d need the scene from later in the movie.)

I was thinking of a different scene from another movie.

Ryan Day as Charlie Cheswick, upset because he lost his cigs in game to Jim Harbaugh as RP McMurphy. Cheswick whines and wails to Tony Petitti as Nurse Ratched, “I want something done!” while the other lunatic coaches egg him on. A riot ensues and Ratched puts the blame on McMurphy. She likes a rigged game.

It kinda falls apart after that, alas. But that is the EXACT whining they put on and caused this to escalate so badly.
