Notre Dame is truly that dude that has been sleeping over the same girl's house for 3 times a week for the last two years but goes, "oh, she's not my girlfriend though. . . "

Honestly think it will only end up being the 10 conference games. It is going to be pretty hard for 15 schools to find dance partners this late in the game.

Well there's the whole SEC-ACC rivalry thing (UGA-GT, Clemson-SCar, UK-L'ville, FSU-UF) and the rest you're probably right but they may find mid-majors (U-FIU, BC-UMass, 'Cuse-Army, Pitt-Temple or an exception to bring back the Backyard Brawl). I'm guessing this was done for the SEC rivalry games tho.

Those SEC crossovers are simple to make. But was does Duke, UVA, NC ST, ND, UNC, Va Tech do? I get your point but if all of them can’t find proper non-conf opponents you have to make things even across the board with the number of games the membership schools have to play imo.

I'm not sure why this would be hard.  Everyone already had nonconference games on the schedule anyway.  I'm sure a lot of teams will just play one of those games.  The opponent doesn't have to be from the state; the game just has to be played in the state.  So, what does UVA do?  They had Old Dominion and VMI on the schedule already.  Play one of them.  No big deal.  It shouldn't be hard to find opponents, I-AA or otherwise.

I doubt the nonconference game would be there if the ADs had told the league offices it'd be too hard to figure out.  And you don't really have to make things even across the board because the ACC championship (like all CGs) is based on your conference record; what you did outside the conference is meaningless.

Every college football team/conference has a plan until they get punched in the face, by covid.

Covid is going to run rampant through most if not all college football teams once practices begin. I don't see a scenario where all these kids/teams stay clean all fall.

Whether or not that results in symptoms, quarantines, forfeits, nothing at all remains to be seen. But this isn't going to magically go away or miss football players because we all hope there's a season

Now I hope they win it all to the ACC title game just to see them play Clemson (hopefully get whipped).

I'm not starting a separate thread for this, as we've had enough Rutgers-focused threads, but all this maneuvering by the ACC, Notre Dame, B1G, etc is going to be worth exactly jackshit if this nonsense keeps happening.
- 15 players (so far) with COVID so far!

If players can't take this seriously by avoiding parties & clubs/bars for a few months in order to have a chance at participating in a high COVID-risk sport, administrators certainly will use that as a data point in deciding whether there will be a season or not.

I'd love to hear an explanation from Schiano on what team rules, if any, were violated by these players and what punishment, if any, he had laid out if anyone violated these rules (e.g., in the NFL, if you are found to have gotten COVID from a "high-risk" event like a party, you can have your pay cut and face further team discipline).

Each ACC team gets 1 non-conference game, but it must be played in the same state as the ACC school.

That allows a handful of ACC/SEC games.  Clemson/SC, Kentucky/Louisville, Florida/FSU and UGA/GT.

I don't know what that means for ND/Navy though (currently planned for Annapolis).

The opponent doesn't have to be from the state.  The game just has to be played there.  The most likely thing for ND to do is just convince Navy to switch, by which I mean bully them into it.  Or else find someone willing to be paid a few hundred grand for the privilege of bathing in the beautiful golden glow of the sacred dome.  Doesn't matter where they travel from.

With Notre Dame in the mix, the ACC now has programs from NYS to Florida and as far west an Indiana.  There is zero chance all of those states will be at the same level of COVID preparedness and "control" by the time the season is played, and that's not even getting into possible restrictions on travel that may be in place.  This is all fine for a potential schedule but I'd be amazed if it actually happened.

I think the over/under in Vegas for NCAA football season is 5 games (they'll get 5 games in before suspending the season)... I'm normally an optimistic guy, but I'm betting 'the under'

ND will be Clemson's best opponent, by far, but ND would finish 4th at best in the B1G East.  UM, OSU and PSU would maul them like UM did last year. Hell, Indiana might beat them too. They'd finish 2nd or 3rd in the B1G West where Wisconsin is a guaranteed trouncing and maybe Minnesota and Iowa too.  Dang the ACC is a weak ass conference

I'm all for the abolishing of divisions across the board. Take the top two teams in each conference and play for the title. If it's a rematch, so be it. I won't complain if Clemson beats ND by 30 points twice this season.
