I don't mind the parade, but I'm officially over the whole "strong" nonsense. People now take any cause and say that they will be "this-strong" or "that-strong." Boston strong doesn't bother me, because I guess it wasn't as played out. Anything else is completely annoying to me now.

They'd probably raise more money if they simply asked for donations at the stadium with significant in-stadium promotion with a matching donation from the school/Under Armour.  Instead they'll inflict this faux-patriotic gear on the viewing public for the ultimate benefit of Under Armour.  As an aside, I find the "bleeding" aspect of the red extremely tacky, especially considering the chosen charity.

These aren't as bad as the 'pink-washing' that the NFL does, which I know (partly) comes from a good place, but is also a transparent attempt by them to market to women.

I really hope I see, during this game, to see clips showing NU (and UM, for that matter) visiting actual wounded warriors at Dingell VA or some similar place. I know UM already does great work with Mott (and I'm sure NU has a similar program), so I don't know if they have time.

Normally random jersey changes I do not like at all. These are awesome. As a member of the military, and as one going to Afghanistan after Christmas, I appreciate it, love it, and hope it brings a lot of awareness to the WWP and the like.

I like the uniforms, but that's beside the point. I really hope WW is getting something out of this. I agree with some of the points already mentioned. Why northwestern as opposed to a service academy? (I understand this is obviously a UA design) The uniforms just scream to any neutral party 'support us, because we are more patriotic'. Hope the proceeds of all this getup go to something that actually helps the veterans that protect our freedoms and sacrifice so much doing so.

I hope that all of under-armor's teams are doing this because there is nothing about this uni that is at all specific to northwestern, other than it is a university that is within the boundaries of the united states of america.

I'm going to assume this will be to honor Veteran's Day?

Only issue I have with them is the Nameplates.  Put the kids' last names on there and be done with it.  No one likes 'words associated with feelings' in the stead of the player's actual last name.  That being said, I like these uniforms.  The helmets will look far shittier on TV, though, than they do in these pics (see: Maryland).

Since these unis look like a Captain America shield exploded on them, we should match them. I'm thinking, continuing the Marvel theme, we should focus on our blood brother from up north--Wolverine.

He's Canadian, so we'll have to change our color scheme to red & white, but as shown by these Northwestern unis, you don't have to maintain your color scheme, so we're good. We can put on the helmet a Maple Leaf with a picture of Hugh Jackman smokin' a stogie superimposed. The jerseys can look pre-ripped, a la Wolverine's claws, to help match the NU uni's tasteful blood splatter.

Let's do it Brandon.

I don't usually comment on this, but it's in very poor taste to wear the flag as clothing. It's similar in nature to flying another flag above it or letting it touch the ground - you're just not supposed to do it. If you want to honor the flag/troops, this is basically the opposite of what you should do.

I don't get this. Simple as that. Also, the running red is very inappropriate and tacky. I can't believe that this design made it through the creative process. How many eyeballs saw this thing?

They look great. It has nothing to do with self promotion, it has more to do with supporting our vets. Why didn't Hollis think of this?

I hope Michigan goes back to Nike or even does something different and signs with Under Armour once the Adidas days are history. Kind of funny how some of the worst days of Michigan Football coincide with their Adidas contract.

They look good. But couldn't they have created these for the Army-Navy game or something along those lines?

I just don't see why Northwestern is sporting them.

There are other tributes going on this month as well, according to a few stories - Texas Tech will supposedly have a similar (but less overtly patriotic) uniform to benefit the Lone Survivor Foundation and Minnesota will have the "M" on the helmet decked out in the flag for their game against Penn State.
