If Iowa gets a W today, and I think they do but I could of course end up wrong they're going to trot to the BTCG 11-1. It's happening again, Ferentz timely 10+ win and major bowl season is due again this year it seems!
October 27th, 2018 at 10:25 PM ^
Probably not.
October 27th, 2018 at 2:45 PM ^
Way to shit the bed Wisconsin. Thanks for nothing.
October 27th, 2018 at 2:51 PM ^
I wrote off Northwestern because of how much they struggled against Rutgers last week. Wisconsin looks like a tire fire.
October 27th, 2018 at 2:59 PM ^
Yup, we've beat a handful of mediocre teams and a couple bad teams.
Rout everyone from here on out. A dominant performance over osu and Iowa would help seal the deal.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:03 PM ^
To be fair, UW is playing without Hornibrook and Taylor unusually has a case of fumblitis.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:10 PM ^
I think the B1G has eight teams worthy of Top 25ish consideration/ballpark in
1, Meechigan (CFP caliber)
2. OSU (execution-flawed team that can four-and-five star overcome
3-4 PSU & Iowa
5-8 Wisky, NW, MSU, Purdue
9 Maryland (play not so great, but they do have the Texas W)
10-12 Indiana, Minnie, Nebraska (bad start but coming on strong)
13 Illinois
15 Rutger (because I can't rank them 16)
Sagarin has six in the top 22 (Purdue), seven in the top 31 (MSU), eight in the top 49 (I think this is too low for NW), nine in the top 52 (MD), 12 in the top 64-66 (Ind, Minn, Neb).
And then of course there's Illinois (105) & Rutger (144, beneath CFB powerhouses like Missouri State).

Not a conference that deserves to be left out in favor of a same-loss 2nd place alternate.
October 27th, 2018 at 2:56 PM ^
It really bothers me that the year Michigan starts hammering teams in the conference, they all start playing like ass so it doesn't get enough credit. It also cracks me up that everyone dismissed Michigan's injury issues at QB but now you see teams like MSU and UW having to play backups and it's all "how could you expect them to look competent without their starters?"
October 27th, 2018 at 3:01 PM ^
That same trope was getting play two weeks ago when Miami got blasted. Some Miami fans were complaining, but talking head universe had praise for Mark Richt and said give him time. He's in year 3, so he should get some time to rebuild the program.
WTF? Where was the time for Harbaugh's year 3? Besides, Richt already has Miami as good as their going to be with him.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:04 PM ^
Well, Harbaugh did get a Year 4, so the person whose opinion actually mattered (Manuel) got it right.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:12 PM ^
I don't see this at all.
I think the B1G is showing its Top 25-consideration depth to be greater than the SEC's.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:00 PM ^
Puts things in perspective, NW is likely better than we thought when we scraped by them, Wisconsin is likely worse than we thought when we soundly beat them.
We do have to be a bit careful here not to overrate ourselves on the back of those Wisconsin and MSU games given that those teams are probably just OK rather than good. It's a long way from beating those to hanging with the playoff level teams.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:09 PM ^
I agree. It's also mention that a lot of people overrated Purdue's offense a bit after OSU just stopped defending that 4th quarter. They can get bogged down when their receivers can't get separation, and Blough is both a good passer AND the guy who threw 21 picks two years ago.
There's a reason they are looking hard at 4-4.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:13 PM ^
Wisconsin is without Hornibrook which I do think matters in our evaluation of this performance.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:16 PM ^
I think the B1G is showing itself to have eight teams that are ballpark 25ish level teams. (A #25 team is going to have its ups and downs).
Obviously, Wisky isn't the Top 10 team of prior years, but I wouldn't write them off. They did beat Iowa at Kinnick. Similarly, as soon as you write off MSU, they win in Happy Valley or go toe-to-toe with a hot Purdue team.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:03 PM ^
Florida State is complete ass.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:14 PM ^
As it stands, this is the worst home loss in FSU history, it has the potential to be their worst loss ever.
Edit: since Clemson just scored again, as it stands this is the worst game Florida State has ever played.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
willie won't be long for Florida State.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:14 PM ^
Reminds me of a Charlie Strong Texas or Clay Helton USC.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:15 PM ^
Lombardi has no arm. His deep balls have been lollipops
October 27th, 2018 at 3:44 PM ^
Who gives a shit if MSU is down on it’s F-ing luck.
Up or down I want to own those wankers every year till they pull a U of Chicago move.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
You knew that was coming.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:21 PM ^
Injuries are always an unfortunate issue. No team can avoid them. But when MSU gets them, commentators like to point it out about 50,000 times more than other teams for some reason.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:26 PM ^
Dayum. Clemson might hang 70 on FSU. On the row-ad.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:27 PM ^
Clemson, trying to pile it on to compensate for their powder puff schedule Willie doesn't see another season at FSU if he doesn't get something done
October 27th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
indeed the West division is un-analyzable
October 27th, 2018 at 3:48 PM ^
Iowa is scrappy. That's all I've got.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
Purdue just isn’t a very good team. Against any defense with a pulse they struggle. A lot of hype around Brohm, but his offense doesn’t do well vs good defenses.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:29 PM ^
At the end of the day, Purdue is still Purdue.
Just shows how bad OSU is this year.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:32 PM ^
So I understand Purdue is the best team in the B1G, right Marcus Ray???
October 27th, 2018 at 3:35 PM ^
Clearly MSU now is.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:34 PM ^
Anyone else got a feeling osu will have 2 losses going into The Game?
October 27th, 2018 at 3:36 PM ^
That would be awesome.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:38 PM ^
Franklin's off to an epic start
October 27th, 2018 at 3:39 PM ^
Tough break for Iowa not recovering for a TD.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:39 PM ^
Quick someone make gif of field goal Franklin looking up at score board all sad. Awesome
October 27th, 2018 at 3:40 PM ^
Beaver stadium looks half empty.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:40 PM ^
Lots of fine seats still available in Happy Valley.
October 27th, 2018 at 3:44 PM ^
Safety, first score of the game...helluva prop bet.
October 27th, 2018 at 4:21 PM ^
So . . . . agreed that we are done swinging on Jeff Brohm's nuts, at least for a week?
October 27th, 2018 at 4:23 PM ^
Red zone efficiency: don't leave home without it.
