And this is why some say Meyer “underachieved” in terms of national titles at OSU. He built a juggernaut that was recruiting at Bama levels, but had some shitty losses (Purdue, Iowa, MSU rain game) and underperformed in the playoff vs Clemson.
Many a UM fan would give up their first born for such a decade of dominance, but I also see the flip-side from a spoiled OSU fan perspective that thinks they could have pulled off another national title or 2 in those Meyer years.
Unfortunately, their Death Star is still fully functional, and whatever lethargy (if any) or staleness was sinking into the program will now be rooted out by a young, energized coach. If Day can recruit at Meyer levels, they will obviously remain right there with Bama, Clemson, and Georgia- and as disgusting as it is to think about, potentially win even more national titles than under Meyer.

We need to “Sparty” them.
The way MSU preps for us all year, prays to the weather/rain gods, and hopes for 6 turnovers, and other acts of god (punt 6), to pull it of.
Every few years we have a team on par with OSU talent-wise, this is clearly not one of those years.
IE...we need a shit ton of luck and breaks along with a total focus and breakdown of everything they do. But do I have faith that we can stop drag routes or other basic concepts against their speed?- No, not without a monsoon weather event.

What pisses me off is they were supposed to fall down to earth. Those bastards went 13-1 last year, won the BIG and the Rose Bowl. Their idiot fans complained like they were 8-4 because the D sucked. They went 13 and fucking 1! The D now looks like the 85 Bears, and the first time HC looks like Dabo. The damn QB who was supposed to struggle with accuracy is a damn monster. They replaced 4 starters on the OL and they absolutely maul people. I’m crestfallen over this shit. I hate them so damn much. Shockingly, Matty is still elite when given NFL guys at every position.
