That was the perfect targeting call if I ever saw one, these calls are getting so inconsistent. Very unfortunate, the Stanford recevier looked bad when he got up. I think Goodman had a previous tackle similar to that but his helmet hit the ball.

Yep, no targeting on that. Yet the PSU player was ejected for trying to intercept the ball and inadvertantly clocking Perry.
Targeting is a travesty of the game... The refs, and their bosses, should be ashamed to face the press over these ridiculous calls.

How do they not call that targeting on review???
And yet they call a clean hit earlier in our game targeting and uphold it on review.
They just need to get rid of the rule or retrain refs.
And they should suspend the crew for the Stanford-UCLA game after such an egregious noncall. Stanford got doubly screwed -their player probably suffered a concussion and it resulted in a turnover.

Booth has at least 3 perfect replays showing it. They decline to call it a targeting.
This is an absolute fucking disgrace.

The referees are instructed to defer to the penalty. If a player leads with a helmet, purposefully or not, the penalty will be called. For better or worse, that's the way it's being called.

There's no way a replay booth should have the power to overturn a play on that. Figure it out on the field.
