What is so hard about spinning the ball a little when you're the holder? That's not rhetorical, I'm asking why that would ever happen at the NFL level.

Any shot it's because the holder's dexterity was done due to the ridiculous cold? I mean, I know my fingers don't move as well when they're bone cold. Any chance the holder was just happy to get the hold down and didn't think he could spin it in time?

More likely he made a huge mistake but I'm searching for an answer too. He didn't even try to spin the ball...

Dexterity doesn't have to be shot. Just affected. We've all been out in weather so cold our hands start to really freeze and numb. Even when you can move them, your precision is reduced and it's harder to accomplish tasks with them. There's a real risk of muffing the hold there.

"Blair Walsh is now 2-for-5 in his career when kicking with a chance to take the lead with under a minute remaining in regulation. The three misses in that situation are the most in the NFL since the start of 2012 (including playoffs)."

Lifelong viking fan. Grew up in MI.  Long story.

Blair is a freak with length strength, but he has got a mental issue, he missed numerous extra points this year an has been very inconsistent.

They need a new kicker. $2MM+ to cut him, which is a lot for a kicker. They gave him a big contract a few years ago.

Zimmer will give up 57 yard field goals for consistency.New kicker please. Laces is bullshit. He just booted a 47 yarder with the fuckin laces.

On a positive note, this does not even compare with the O'Neill punt.  Today I only lobbed the remote ( nothing broke) and I was calmer in just a few minutes.

On the play that shall not be named, I tossed furniture and needed to walk in the park next door for 20 minutes.  I don't think any gaffe will ever compare to O'neill.
