How this hire and Gamble will fit together with Sean Magee's role as director of player personnel. Recruiting at UM is looking more and more like an NFL personnel office!

Both compliment each other very well. Director of Player Personnel (day-to-day operations) is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of all recruiting plans for prospective student-athletes for the Michigan coaching staff. He maintains relationships with High School Coaches; manages and coordinates all aspects of recruiting within the NCAA rules and regulations; assists with decision making responsibilities for targeting recruits, provides preferred selection orders of prospects and has input into scholarships offered. In addition he manages the recruitng database, develops prospect lists and ensures targeted recruits attend Michigan summer camps; develops brochures, communication plans, scouting visits, and assists with official campus visits. Director of Recruiting (big picture operations) is responsible for everything above and every coach that is out on the road at any given time. Roster management, detailed visit plans, talking points, marketing, strategy, evaluations, and most importantly managing relationships with players and coaches. In addition, he will manage the budget, travel and coordinate with the Director of Football Operations. Finally, the Director of Recruiting will also focus on campus visits, academic qualifications, and maximizing parent/athlete communications with the appropriate staff.

Thanks for this, sir! I'm loving how Coach Harbaugh constantly pushes the program forward in ways that shows he not only respects and loves the game but is relentless in his passion for doing all he can to give the players and their families every opportunity for success at UM and beyond. This is just another example, imo, of that passion.

From recruiting, through college, and beyond each player will have to ask "Who's got it better than us?"

I don't know this guy from a hole in the wall, but if Jim MF'ing Harbaugh wants the guy he's got to be good at what he does.  One thing Harbaugh does well is identify talent.
