Need a Bluesky invite? I have three — just donate to Mott

In honor of both Seth Fisher's recent experiences and today's sudden surge in interest in Twitter alternatives, I figured I'd offer up the three Bluesky invites I currently have available.

Bluesky is still very much in beta testing — both the bsky.app website/apps and the at:// protocol it's based on are in beta — but I've found it much easier to get up and running than Mastodon. (Their goal is to offer all the federation benefits of Mastodon, too, with users owning their own UGC, account portability, etc.) There's a growing college football community over there, too, as one by one fans are airlifting out Twitter users who're getting worried by what's going on over there.

If you're interested, just make a donation of any amount to Mott Children's Hospital (link here). I'll check back a little later and reach out to the first three comments that include a screen shot of a donation confirmation pages and a Twitter handle, and then I'll reach out to them via Twitter DM with an invite code.

But regardless, maybe donate a few bucks anyway — it's definitely worthwhile.

Can affirm that bluesky is a much nicer place to be than the old bird app.  It lacks some features, but the user experience, from both the community and UI standpoints, reminds me of said bird app from 8-12 years ago.  I like it.  Plus, there's a growing contingent of Michigan and CFB folks there which should be clutch once the season gets into swing.
