Nebraska on the verge of history

It may happen!

Nebraska may go 1-8 with a positive point differential in Big Ten play.  They are currently +7.

Their season:

Illinois - L 30-22

MSU - L 23-20

Northwestern - W 56-7

Michigan - L 32-29

Minnesota - L 30-23

Purdue - L 28-23

OSU - L 26-17

Wisconsin - L 35-28

It all comes down to Iowa on Friday.

I’d like our chances if we held them to 26 also, but we can’t ignore the fact that OSU is going to come out with their A game. They’re going to pull out every stop, every trick, play their hardest and empty out that playbook to beat us. The “blueprint” left by Nebraska isn’t going to work on its own. It’s going to take Herculean effort from the guys on our side and some tricks of our own. And yes, a little bit of turnover luck as well.

OSU won’t play Michigan the same way they play Nebraska.

Poor Frost got jobbed by the zebras on the last drive too. B1G refs finally call holding, then decide pass interference is turned off on 4th down heaves. Would have been fun to see that game go to OT.

Aren't you so happy that we brought Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers into the Big 10?  Next week I might just skip Michigan-OSU so I can watch the battle for the Quick Lane Bowl in Piscataway and then flip over to history being made in Lincoln.

25th in FEI so probably the best 2-7 team in the NCAA.  I know Scott Frost and Nebraska don't get much love on this board but I am starting feel sorry for them.  I am disappointed they didn't finish off MSU since MSU did NOT get a 1st down in the second half.  They absolutely got robbed on a key PI non-call against OSU on what was shaping up to be scoring drive.  Both of these things were noted by others on this board.  However, if they choose to play poorly again Michigan I am okay with that.

From a top down perspective I agree on the 1997 point. A little schadenfreude.

Since I've found the Nebraskans pretty nice in the country-side and more than nice when I'd go to the hockey games vs UNO in Omaha (yes I know, different city, but not entirely different people), and because of the student-athletes working their tail off in Lincoln having nothing to do with 1997, I would not be opposed to Nebraska enjoying a little more success and giving the Big Ten Championship game a little more excitement someday.

Thank you for accepting my run-on sentence and poor parallel verb skills into this symposium.

OP: I would've gone with something like "Nebraska has lost seven Big Ten games. The largest margin of victory was nine points."

I think that's more amazing than the overall points.

you are what your record says you are. IOW, beating NW by 50 shouldn't count for 2-3 Ws & there's a reason they lose close games. They aren't that talented nor are they terribly well coached.
