This game has a similar feel to yesterday’s championship game. Both B1G teams have the best player, but the supporting cast is below championship caliber
Big Ten schools have just largely never taken that next step to go to the championship tier in most major sports…the fact is been a quarter century since this conference won a basketball championship in itself is crazy.
The crazy thing is since MSU's last win the big ten has put a lot of teams in the final four. They've had 15 times in the final four with a number of them making it to the final - Wisconsin, OSU, Illinois, Michigan and Michigan St. and Purdue.
Unless Purdue finds another gear it's looking like they'll be the 7th different Big Ten team to lose in the finals since 2000. Michigan with 2 of those 😑

What exactly has Purdue gotten out of foster loyer in this game? About what you’d expect. Can’t beat a team as good as Connecticut with a guy who gives you absolutely nothing. Purdue has only one player who is better than the guy going up against him, and it’s not nearly enough to make up for his teammates.
if the game went 60 minutes, maybe Purdue could foul out enough Connecticut players to get back in it.

UConn basketball feels like UM football- just kind of squeeze the life out of the other team over the course of the game. Balanced, unselfish roster - elite defense and offensive efficiency.
