Ok maybe that explains why Henry was relatively quiet.  Bummer on him - hopefully something that is not lingering.

Smith looked a shell of himself.  The fact he came back after 2 weeks of rest and had a gimpy ankle says he won't be healthy until the bowl and this is probably all we are going to be able to get out of him.

A lot of those guys are not new or are freshman injured types.  Butt did go out but came right back in.  Obviously the other important one next to Smith Henry and Jake.

Needs to just sit until the OSU game.

He keeps getting kind of healthy and dinged in games. Minnesota twisted his ankle and he stood there and cussed the player out before limping off to the sideline.

Sidenote, I notice on the same drive...Jake Butt got dinged. He takes off his helmet and the OL points to him to get the refs attention. A ref waves his arms to stop the clock...and the clock never stops.

We get the next play off, but the clock never stops and the play clock is not reset.

Rutty*, the Scarlet Knight, will probably be diagnosed with some horrible malady and the team will be emotionally charged up and play the game of their lives.  Chris Laviano will start chucking footballs through holes the size of a shoe box.

*from what I can tell the mascot doesn't really have a name.

Noticed Butt got beaten up late in the 4th; he did keep playing though.

We have quite a few Ankle injuries that I'm hoping get fixed up; I'm reminded of last season where there were a few players that got hurt early and were never the same.

Rudock is concerning -- I'm concerned what the "rib injury" is because it could be season-ending. And our offense is struggling as is. Speight stepped up, but Rudock is better in the pocket. We're in trouble here, and I'm hoping we heal up and our defense gets reset for Rutgers, let alone Indiana, and the next two are terrifying.

I think you get your wish. I think I'd there was any way Rudock could have played, he would have Saturday. These types of things usually are worst a couple days later. At a minimum, he misses a few practices and Speight gets a lot of reps with the ones. My guess is Speight starts and Rudock dresses in case of emergency, if he gets cleared.

OK I wonder why at the beginning of the season Morris was listed as a co-starter? If he is truely the second best option at QB then he needs to start against Rutgers if Rudock isn't good to go. I am not worried about saving a Redshirt for next year i am worried about winning this year. If Speight is the better option then that is fine but some details on what happened from then to now would be nice.

There has been much speculation, without actual proof, that Jim Harbaugh and Shane Morris have an understanding that Shane will be allowed to redshirt this season in order to preserve an extra year of football participation for him at another school.

Unless you've got inside information, there's no direct evidence (a) that such an "understanding" is to permit Shane to transfer to another school, instead of being able to compete for the starting quarterback position at Michigan, or (b) that Shane has enough academic credits to be able to graduate from the University of Michigan in December, so that he could get a head start at another school next semester. Moreover, there's no evidence that Shane Morris isn't "100% for the team."

I know nothing about the Morris family's financial circumstances, but I would suspect that if Shane needs additional academic credits after this semester in order to receive his Michigan degree, then it might make sense for him to stay in the program.

By remaining on the team, he keeps his scholarship money, as well as access to Michigan's training facilities and whatever academic and personal coiunseling for athletes he might desire.

Considering what Shane Morris went through (a) before and during the bowl game against Kansas State and then (b) last season during and after the Minnesota game, as well as the effort he put in as the leading student recruiter for his recruiting class, maybe it would be understandable for Jim Harbaugh to permit Shane to remain on the team through spring practice IF Shane would need the scholarship money in order to remain at Michigan to complete his degree credits.

None of us know the situation.  JH and Shane could have had a chat at the beginning of the year in which JH offered Shane the opportunity to RS if he didn't win the job and shane wants those 2 years.  We all truly don't know if Shane is better than WIlton or not.  There are too many other factors that play into it with Shanes redshirting.

I remember seeing Henry and Butt both play after getting injured. I would be surprised if they weren't ready to go Saturday (though they may be held out for precautionary reasons.)

Harris we know about and according to Brian and co. should be ready Saturday.

Canteen I hadn't heard about but I hadn't really seen him much recently so I have no idea what the deal is there.

Rudock and Smith are obviously the big ones. I may be a little over confident here but I think we can still beat Rutgers without either guy, especially with Drake being healthy again. I kind of want to see Rudock held out, both for his health and to see how Speight does in a full game.

Agree.  I hope Harbaugh takes the same approach as he has with other guys.  We are playing a lesser opponent so lets let some guys get healthy and give other guys a shot.  Exactly why I think there is a good chance Speight is the starter this week and Rudock back for Indiana.  Who knows, maybe Speight impresses enough and hits some deep balls and creates a little controversy.

Aren’t Brian Cole, Bryan Mone and Mario Ojemudia out for the season? Are Wyatt Shallman and Chase Winovich also being held out to allow them to recover from injuries suffered in the spring?

Is there any public information about the status of Ian Bunting, Freddy Canteen, David Dawson, Jaron Dukes, Matt Godin, Drake Harris, Karan Higdon, Lawrence Marshall, Mike McCray and Henry Poggi, none of whom played against Minnesota, according to the player participation report
