MSU Red Cedar Board: Will Denard finish the game?
Sparty fans speculating that Denard won't be able to finish the game. Time for another bounty investigation, this time by the NCAA.

I know the message you're trying to make, but it still kinda makes you look like a troll.

Is that how you wrote your last term paper ? At least here you can usually read several posts before somebody makes an uncalled for comment. On that site it is rare to see a post that does not say "scum" a few swear words, etc. Makes me wonder if the profs grade their students with " wrong scumbag " or "good work asshole. a fucking A- " in spartyland.

"Robinson's day ended late in the fourth when he was thrown down by Marcus Rush, who was called for roughing the passer. The Michigan quarterback stood on the sideline, green grass stains all over his uniform, as the Spartans finished off another win over the Wolverines."

That brutal chop and throwdown seems rarely to get discussed. I honestly think that play and the Gholston face-mask wrench warrant being thrown out of the game. Something is wrong with college football if the only repurcussion for this is 15 yards.
October 19th, 2012 at 10:19 PM ^
It was his second roughing the passer penalty, right? It clearly resulted in injury; after a clear intent to cuase injury. It was late in the game, but I really thought that there would be an explusion.
Later, I advocated for a suspension of Rush as much as Gholston. It's good that the cameras caught Gholston's facemask-twist, but he wasn't even penalized for that; it was called a late hit. Not many people saw the helmet twist, at the bottom of the pile. I was there and could not see it; I don't think the refs saw it at all. Everybody saw Marcus Rush's two personal fouls.
And we've been over the punch, which was mere silliness by comparision. Gholston reacted to Lewan's hands on his facemask, as Lewan was responding (perhaps self-defensively) to Gholston's having arm-barred him earlier.
Yes, Marcus Rush's series of personal fouls in that game were as vicious as Gholston's.

Save some time and dont visit their website. I mean you know that its going to be there, so why go look for it if it upsets you. some of their fans are, for lack of a better term, classless.
Seriously, lets stop worrying about what Michigan State has to say. I mean they worry about what we have to say about them, so lets not just make it a vicious cycle.

I'm sick of this. I'm sick of them. Those stupid assholes who do not deserve to have the word "Michigan" in their name. Fuck them, fuck that site and fuck their entire fanbase.
That whole site can go down in flames, which it will tomorrow when they have a meltdown when Michigan spanks their asses on nationa.....oh wait, state isn't good enough nor does anyone care enough about them for the game to be on national TV.

I am saying it goes to show the duplicity of man. You know it is wrong when you see someone else do it. I am not so convinced that we recognize when we do it.
October 19th, 2012 at 10:45 PM ^
There is no doubting the duality of man, nor the occasional douchiness of members of any fan base.
What I CAN say is that comments rooting for injuries can't be found on this site, because we mods delete them. And as the guy who deletes them, I can tell you that they are exceedingly rare, and such comments are poorly received when they are made.
I'm not comparing the fan bases writ large, but I feel pretty comfortable in suggesting that the level of civility around here is light-years ahead of that at the RCMB.

Clearly, it is mere coincidence that Dantonio's players have been caught on film trying to intentionally injure opposing players--by chopping throats (reynolds vs Wisc's sorgi), poking eyes (allen vs osu's hankins), and twisting necks (gholston vs. UM'd robinson).
Clearly, it is mere coincidence that MSU—after Dantonio’s assistant exhorted his players to play 60 minutes of “unnecessary roughness”-- knocked Robinson out of the game last year with repeated late hits and personal fouls.
Clearly, it is mere coincidence that more than a dozen of Dantonio’s players were arrested for a group assault on dormitory residents---and that Dantonio coached most of the “dirty thirty”—the players arrested during the Tressel years at Ohio.
Clearly, it’s mere coincidence that Dantonio’s two most prized pupils at Ohio (highest NFL draft picks) were a guy with a subliterate Wonderlic score (Chris Gamble) and a substance-abusing player (Will Smith) who was suspended by the NFL for taking money to intentionally injure players in the bounty scandal.
Clearly, these events must all be unrelated coincidences.
Yet, some silly people will still ask unreasonable questions: like
“ how long does a series of coincidences go on before someone says: “there is a pattern here?”
Some silly people will still wonder:
“How long does it take before the mainstream media start discussing this pattern? How long does it take before the league or NCAA does something about it? How long does it take before the refs start throwing Dantonio’s players out DURING the game to compensate the injured team (and not waiting to suspend them later against a different team the following week)? “
Maybe that's the silliest idea of all--to think that anybody in authority would actually do something about these "coincidences."

again because of a dirty hit. Is this honestly what sports have come to? It's embarrassing!!!

Most of them are saying something to the effect of, "He'll finish. Dude is tough as nails." I don't mind some Sparty bashing, but save it for the schadenfruede thread.

Reading all the comments made me go back and doublecheck...but I dont see anything they are all seeiing. The RCMBers were all answering yes or no to whether or not Denard would get hurt.. they aren't saying they hope he does.

Dantonio - A man who focuses on nothing more than inflicting misery on everyone and everything. He would sell his own mother for a win against a MAC school. He turns a blind eye to despicable acts on and off the football field. Basically, the dude needs a hug and someone to tell him, "It's not your fault"..
October 20th, 2012 at 11:46 AM ^
Dantonio just this week said Hoke was a man that sometimes carried himself better than Dantonio does, lol.
Come on now. Every program has their Frank Clarks and Glenn Winston's to deal with.
