Moving on... Scouting MBB's game at Louisville on 12/3

Submitted by FrankMurphy on November 30th, 2019 at 10:40 PM

Picking the fanbase up off the mat after the football team shits the bed against Ohio State has become a tradition of sorts for Michigan Basketball (a.k.a., the true standard-bearer of Michigan Athletics).

We play at Louisville on Tuesday as part of the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Louisville will likely enter the game as the number one team in the country, but they have played no one so far. Their most impressive win came over a mediocre Miami team. They were trailing a bad South Carolina Upstate team midway through the second half. Their leading scorer in every game has been Jordan Nwora, a one-dimensional forward who can shoot but isn't particularly intimidating in any other respect. Their only player taller than 6'10" is Malik Williams, a 6'11" freshman who comes off the bench at the four and has played only sparingly this season. This is a good matchup for Michigan, especially given the way the offense is taking shape under Juwan. I predict an upset that won't be seen as much of an upset by the end of the season.

Also, as if we needed any more motivation to grind Louisville into the pavement, they plan on doing this at halftime: https://bigredlouie.com/2019/11/26/louisville-basketball-unofficialy-recognize-2013-national-title-team/

Louisville goes to shameless creative ends to give the finger to the NCAA for their violations, while Michigan still keeps the Fab Five banners in self-imposed storage.

Ha ha... I know that we officially had our revenge in the NCAA tournament a couple of years ago, but it would be such poetic justice to beat the shit out them in this game as a final nail in that coffin.

How is this team ranked #1 again?

lol seriously

what a bunch of A-Holes... i hate the NCAA allowing cheaters to get away with things; that's the reason why teams still cheat.

Would love nothing better than smashing the Cardinals on Tuesdays...

Louisville has had a complete cupcake schedule thus far. Their best win is vs Kenpom #87 Miami. Louisville struggled in their 2nd to last game vs Akron. Louisville is deep with quality players but theyre heavily reliant on Nwora. If you shutdown Nwora its a blowout.

Honestly Louisville has done nothing to deserve the #1 rank but they'll get it simply by being in the right place at the right time and not choking vs a cupcake. If there was ever a time for us to romp a #1 team its this game

I cant stress how happy I am that Michigan basketball is looking as fun to watch as ever. Lions suck, Pistons suck, Michigan football disappoints as usual. If UM basketball had a down year in the first year under Howard this could've been the worst winter sports period in years

Fuck off, Luoisville.  Just fuck off.

Why don't we flip off the NCAA like every other school does?  Sometimes, this arrogant 'we're better than you' attitude sucks.

If it was at home, I’d feel pretty confident about it essentially being a toss up. Louisville is a tough place to play and we haven’t been in rough environment yet.
Should be a good game and great measuring stick.

We lost the title game the moment Louisville made it after that one schmuck broke his leg. That was THE storyline after that, getting a title for that guy. They even had him close to the staging area for the trophy presentation just in case. Pitino hadnt been outed yet either and the media was blowing him hard as well.
