Mitch McGary Marijuana Business Follow Up

Submitted by umhero on April 9th, 2020 at 8:57 AM

Wolverine Devotee posted in February that Mitch was starting a marijuana business (Link).

Well, it is up and running and he looks really happy about it.

His business is in Buchanan, MI and it is called 7 Engines. From what I can tell it is a distributor not a dispensary. Here's an article from February Link

The guy is doing something he loves, and he is happy.

My advice to my kids is to do something that you LOVE doing, and do it better than anyone else.  Don't follow the money doing something that you don't love.

Why when some guys stop working out, they get skinny...but when I stop, I get fat as fuck?

My best friend is the same way as it appears Mitch is. He's 6'1" and was about 240 lbs solid muscle, played middle linebacker and placed in the state finals in hurdles. Now he lives in California, has an RV sales job, smokes weed all day, eats gas station jelly doughnuts every morning and drinks Mountain Dew all day. He weighs like 170 soaking wet. I don't understand it at all.

Good for Mitch?  I guess?  Such a weird path his life took.

There's a lesson for all of us who are drooling over the incoming recruiting class and arguing about how Todd is going to come in and move Livers or Wagner to the bench as a point-forward just because he has 5-stars next to his name.

Would you ever have thought that in McGary's recruiting class things would have turned out how they did?

  • McGary (5-star) - highly ranked early, dropped late;  had some electric but inconsistent moments in his injury riddled career at Michigan, got drafted early on potential, NBA career fizzled out fast.
  • GR3 (5-star) - low ranked guy early, flew up charts late; was mostly an uber-talented role player at Michigan, drafted in 2nd round, has carved out a solid NBA career as a role player
  • Nik Stauskas (4-star) - solid recruit ranked around 100; amazing season as a sophomore, drafted high, never really found solid footing in the NBA but hung around a few years
  • Caris Levert (2.5-star) - no name guy ranked over 200; saw the court early, was on the way to an amazing career at Michigan before injuries, is now the best NBA player from this class
  • Spike Albrect (2.5-star) - older no name guy without a shred of athleticism who played early and had a very good career at Michigan

If I'm Juwan Howard I'm telling Todd to talk to GR3 about how he stayed within himself at Michigan, became a great role player without having to be the hero, and still found his way into the NBA with a solid career.

The good thing about Juwan being the coach is that he knows what it's like to be a highly touted recruit. Hell, Juwan was a McDonald's All-American just like Todd.

I would imagine Juwan can play the mentor role for Todd and possibly Christopher. Man, the thought of getting 2 McDonald's All-Americans in one class gives me goosebumps.

There can't be many coaches in D1 who can walk into a living room and tell recruits he knows what it's like quite like Juwan. Grew up a poor kid in Chicago, McDonald's AA, college super star, NBA player, NBA coach, and now college coach. I'm sure lots of families are listening to every word he says

You're post should be stickied and studied by tons of Michigan fans...

Michigan fans need to get a lot better at studying film than looking at rankings and reading what the "experts" think.     You never know what's gonna happen after a kid gets on campus.

And of course we could talk all day about the football team...    derrick green,  Tate forcier,   william Campbell,  aubrey solomon just to name a few who never matched the rankings and hype.

Then guys like jordan kovacs,  jake ryan,  all of the Glasgow's,  josh mettellus ( he started as a 2 star ),   ronnie Bell.

The rankings dont guarantee anything

It's been beaten to death here and everywhere else on the CFB internet, but one more time: of course rankings don't guarantee anything, but they indicate a much higher likelihood that the player will be great. Teams have a much better chance to be great with all 4-5* players.

Definitely think about from time to time what his NBA career could've been. He had the potential but it just wasn't meant to be.

Either way, good for him on doing what he loves. Regardless of what you think about his career choices, so few people in this world can actually say that they wake up in the morning and the job they do is what they actually love to do with their life. So he is very, very lucky in that regard. Said it in the previous thread on this and I'll say it again: as long as he's doing this within the confines of the law and isn't hurting himself or others with this business, then I have no problems with what he's doing.

According to Basketball Reference, he had NBA contracts to the tune of @$4.4M. I'm betting he didn't collect all that what with the suspensions, but he should have had enough of a nest egg with which to start a business.

They are almost done with their dispensary. It is right on Front Street when you head in from Niles. Right across the street from the Lakeland Health Clinic.

Ummmm.... That is what someone told me.

Two quick things. First—if he had his back surgery after his initial injury and came back before the tourney, Michigan wins out. Second, I work with someone who grew up in Indiana with Mitch and said he was always a goofball of sorts, and this venture of his surprises absolutely nobody there.

Now people earn big money with marijuana. However, not all the products are equally good. So, it is better to find the best CBD oil of all. For it, you need to read the reviews and make your conclusions. In my opinion, this is the best decision if you want to buy good products

Good day. I agree with you. Such products are popular now. Quite interesting idea. I also want to create my own online shop! I will sale vape devices and liquids. By the way I'm searching good web developers now, can you recommend me something? I found good offers here, but also want to hear your opinion!

You want my opinion?

My opinion as a moderator is that I'm going to block your account for spamming twice in two days.

How's that for an opinion?

I also noticed that you spammed the same thread that another spammer (who I have since blocked) had previously used to post a link---my additional opinion is that you're probably the same person.

Don't come back.
