Military Appreciation Day Sept 10

Submitted by blueday on

Does anyone have any details on events for the day?  I am taking my nephew that served in the Army in Afghanistan.  Don't have much time but looked around on MGoBlue and did'nt find anything.  Wish this was promoted better so we can all get ours vets to a game.  Thanks for the help.  I'm wearing Navy along with the Jumpman ... Dad served in WWII and Korean.

No sense of respect or why they still are free. So your Mom is paying your tuition? I paid my own. If you want to try to physically out do me ... find the so-called 70 year old at Stadium & Main wearing a Naval Academy shirt. I will bring other vets to check your attitude. I expected more from the future Michigan Way ... I had a simple question.

In the past it's been a scoreboard tribute/acknowledgment and the band plays the hymns/songs of all the branches.  The announcer asks those who served in each branch to stand for their hymn and to be recognized.

That's how it was last time I went to one, which admittedly was a few years ago.

My understanding is that there's going to be someone parachuting into the stadium as well.

BEAT ARMY! AGAIN........ Seriously, I am a Navy Veteran and a conservative. I will be sitting next to the guy I've known for 30 years, a diehard liberal. Also an Army Veteran. I hate his politics, he hates mine, but we are good friends and Brothers in Arms. This day is special to both of us. Cause we both Love our Country. Look for the old geezers in Section 19 row 51. We'll be saluting during the Anthem! Yes indeed.

always worry about sporting events on or near September 11th, particularly at iconic American locations like the Big House and South Bend.

Drew Henson had just been signed away by Steinbrenner.  His old teammate, Tom Brady, was the backup quarterback for New England, although he'd get a shot at playing time in a couple weeks' time.

I also did not have a cell phone.  They went very quickly from being a rare item to something everyone had, right in the next couple of years.
