Harbaugh is all business. Him being in Judge Judy's audience, the Signing of the Stars, dabbing w/ Migos etc., is good for UM. 10+ win seasons are about to be the norm around here.

doing all these off the field antics, tweets, and pissing people off. But he better beat MSU and compete with OSU at the shoe this year if he wants immunity to do such things. Don't get me wrong, I love Harbaugh and what he's done to this program in a year has been incredible. He's made us relevant again. But please just win at least 10 games and beat Sparty. If we don't show up to either of those games this year I'm blaming that strictly on him and the staff. We have better talent than arguably both, and there is no reason to lose to these guys for basically a decade straight. Just play football damnit.

This.

Like you, I'm glad Harbaugh has this program trending up. Hopefully gone are the days of losing to the likes of Rutgers and barely escaping Akron. We're not a joke anymore, but but if he doesn't beat MSU or OSU on a regular basis, I couldn't care less if he wins every other game on the schedule. That season would be a complete, unmitigated failure.

Losing to both of those teams on a regular basis, as we've been doing, would make Harbaugh's antics wear thin very quickly.

I'm speaking on behalf of all of his off-the-field headlines he's made since the end of our season in January. I'm NOT saying this is a bad thing, like I stated, he's made us relevant again, and I agree we were a 5-7 team to a 10-3 team BECAUSE OF HIM. But to be "content" or just "okay" with losing to MSU and OSU because they are rivals and contenders in the B1G is just absurd. And yes, as much as I love Harbaugh as a coach, HE is the reason we lost that game. To call a timeout, then come out in punt formation with 2 gunners with no defenders, and to not adjust IS on the coaching staff, which last time I checked, was him. He won us a lot of games last year, and brought some pride back into our program, but WE are better than State this year, and just as good if not better than OSU. I'm sick of the excuses of losing to these teams, and there are those that claim "winning or losing to OSU can make or break your season", which I didn't agree with in the past, but I feel that way with MSU this year. It will be an absolute disappointment of a season if we don't beat MSU this year in particular due to last years events. It is a must win for in-state momentum and pride in this program. If you guys are cool with losing to that inferior program 8 out of 9 years, then be my guest. I'm quite frankly just sick of it. And no, I don't think he's on "the hot seat" if he doesn't deliver this season lol. He's an incredible coach, I'll just personally be done with his "antics" if he fails to do so.

And if that's true, why Is Michigan better than MSU and OSU this year? Easy answer: Jim Harbaugh. After Harbaugh immediately turned the 49ers around from 6-10 to 13-3, suddenly everyone talked about how much talent they had. Strangely, no one had quite seen it the same way when they were 6-10. Now, he's done the same thing at Michigan. 5-7 to 10-3, and everyone is talking about the talent he inherited. This is football. Talent doesn't get it done by itself. Talent doesn't fully show itself without the right coaching. He takes the talent he has and gets the most out of it. In college, he has the added advantage of being able to use his ability to acquire better talent. I don't think you appreciate what you have.

Do you not remember where this team was before this past season? Let me remind you: they were 5-7 with no QB, no O-Line, and no running game. That team was held to NEGATIVE rushing yards in 2 SEPARATE games. There was so much talk about how there was NO talent on the roster. When Harbaugh was hired, there was talk about how he would turn things around, but it would take 2 - 3 years to rebuild a talented roster.

It's perfectly acceptable to have high expectations for this season; the reason we HAVE those high expectations is because of the job Harbaugh did this past season. We know the team is talented because he SHOWED US HOW TALENTED THEY WERE. But, that being said, those 2 rivalry games are extremely intense, and ANYTHING can happen, as we found out this past year. We are more talented on paper, but that doesn't mean we'll automatically win those games. Remember the 90s? How many times did OSU come into the Game with an undefeated/top 5 record for a chance to play in the National Title? And Michigan crushed those hopes annually. Similarly, we had some GREAT teams in the 2000s, but they kept getting beat by OSU.

At the end of the day, the defense is all kinds of stacked, but the QB is still a question mark, the O-Line is still average at best, and the defense is learning its 3rd system is 3 years. We fully expect Harbaugh and Co. to get all of this right and bring out the best. But they are still working through the growing pains of starting a regime at Michigan. So, to say that Harbaugh should essentially start being on the hot seat should they lose to OSU and MSU this year is just absurd. Not with the talent at QB and O-Line that he has coming in/is developing. Hell a big reason that those 90s Michigan teams kept winning was because they had great QBs (Grbac - Pro Bowler, Collins - 2nd Rd pick, Griese - Pro Bowler, Brady - 'Nuff Said, Henson - Consensus Top 5 pick if he stuck with football) and an embarrasment of riches in the offensive trenches.

So in conclusion, take a chill pill. Harbaugh should be guaranteed 5 years minimum to get this monster going, and I highly doubt it will take nearly that long.

Lots of comments about Harbaugh's off the field antics when he seriously did absolutely nothing. This thread is about someone else who said something about Harbaugh. He didn't even do a thing and everyone's all "hey, this is a good time for me to point out that all the things Harbaugh does is moot if he loses"...Except he didn't do anything. Migos did.

Coach Harbaugh lives like a person who has very little fear. I believe his sense of integrity will provide him with a good moral compass.

Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke both have coaching ability and good qualities. Neither one has the complete set of coaching and leadership skills to win a National Championship. Jim Harbaugh is more complete.

To all the people who are worried about Harbaugh not beating MSU and OSU, don't be.

He's the coach of Michigan.  He'll have to beat them whether he hangs out with rappers or nuns.  Or both.  It's self-solving.

He knows this. In the meantime, he's just being himself.

Have fun with it. He is.
