*Media cheers*
*Students grumble*
with that early start time.
I'm not sure how much say a visiting team has on scheduling - and probably none - but if I were them I would be a little put off by this.
On the other hand, its nice to have a home field advantage
Definitely not. Both OSU and Oregon come to Michigan and Michigan State that weekend, respectively.
I think he meant some time in the future, but I could be wrong.
If that was the question, I think the answer is still no. I looked at our future schedule and they aren't showing up.

Nope. This was a 1 game in Ann Arbor deal - no return trips to Oregon State.
I don't think playing late brings the same kind of advantage that playing early does. College students can easily stay up late, but getting up 3 hours earlier than usual can be rough.
Sometimes I wish just once that I could experience getting up and watching Michigan play at 9am.
So quit drinking and stay in bed!
"I don't like early starts because I'm too old" seems paradoxical to me.
I think that 'I'm too old to drink 6 beers before noon anymore' comes before 'I'm too old to stay up watching a late game'.
Same here. There is a 91 year old lady across the street from me that still drives and leaves every morning by 6:30 AM. She even goes out on drives on mornings with blizzards.

I must be old. I loved the Detroit Lions London, England game against Atlanta. I woke up and went for my jog while listening to the 1st half, came home and watched the 2nd half on TV and then the game was over by noon with the whole day in front of me.
I was in San Francisco for the '97 OSU game, which started at 9:00am - one of the longest, best days of my life.
I lived in Hawaii from 96 to 2000. I came to enjoy getting up at 6:00 and catching the game. It felt all wring coming back to the mainland and having to wait half the day for a game.As an aside, the Rainbow Warriors hosted Michigan in '98. I think that was a 3:30 start in Hawaii, 9:30 EST
All home game times against PAC-12 opponents should be noon games.
I'm not sure how much say the AD has (if any), and it may all be driven by TV, but why not make west coast teams play at 9 am their time if you can get away with it? If nothing else it should give UM a decided schematic advantage.
Meh. "Decided advantage" may be too strong of a word. You know the other team would be on EST the entire week before.
If they have class the week before, that might be hard to arrange.
ORST football team definately could be on eastern time all week. ORST is on quarter system and classes don't start until the last week of Sept.
I am almost certain the times that pan out each year are driven by the networks, ESPN / ABC having the first pick in most cases with conference-specific networks usually getting the games that didn't make the cut. The schedules themselves are, of course, created by athletic departments and programs and when it comes to having Pac-12 visitors over here in the Eastern time zone, I agree that could work well for us, although I bet they do spend several days acclamating to it or trying to do so.
Does the visiting team have any say as to the start time? Is it ESPN's choice?I can't imagine the Beaver faithful are too happy about this.
I like the noon games. I coach youth football, and our games are around 5:30-6 pm, so now I don't have to miss out on anything.
They are not looking forward to that game, all I say is "well you shouldnt be, respect the Harbaugh"
*I live in Europe.
Yay noon games! Since I'm a student again and going, I want noon games to maximize my other football watching opportunities.
I always hated it, because it meant there wasn't as much pregame time and it was harder to get into the stadium in time.
Less of an issue when you don't drink.
True, but if you want to sit with your friends and have to wrangle them away from "lets just do ten more rounds of flip-cup" It's a little irritating.

This is the most logical argument in favor of 3:30 games I have heard yet. +1 to you.
I agree. I like being cold.
