What makes me wonder is why

What makes me wonder is why is Sparty on an upward trend and UM on a downward trend?  I wish the rivalry would at least be competitive going forward. Have you seen their 2016 recruiting class?  Sick. And think about this: how does Purdue get 3 good big men?

We are all Spartan fans now.

We are all Spartan fans now.

OSU did not choke against

OSU did not choke against MSU.   MSU simply took it to them and controlled both lines of scrimmage.  If not for 2 turnovers, MSU wins 17-0.  If anything, MSU choked with 2 turnovers.  Dantonio's MSU is 2-2 against Urban's OSU team.  Rest of BIG?  0-30.

Reality is.....scoreboard

Reality is.....scoreboard baby!!!  Spin it anyway you want while you ponder msu being in the BIG CCG for the third year in five.....sweet dreams!

so you would rather see OSU

so you would rather see OSU go the CCG and possibly win it, instead of MSU?  But i thought OSU was the big, hated, no. 1 rival, not MSU.  Seems to me you are saying MSU is UM's no. 1 rival....don't deny it.  You can't have it both ways.

Ohio State was held to

Ohio State was held to 132/86.  You listed MSU's yardage.

You mean Izzo wastes them

Hey Jimmyisgod, You mean Izzo wastes them like Zach Randolph?  Jason Richardson (who just retired after 13 years in the NBA),  Draymond Green who just signed an 85 million dollar NBA contract (and just donated 3.1 million dollars to MSU)?  I could go on.

LOL! Just the kind of

LOL! Just the kind of nonsense I expected!  Keep up the "good" work!

Someone needs to give the

Someone needs to give the ill-informed a dose of reality and solid alternatives as opposed to just reading nonsensical fluff.

I expect silly retorts from the brain dead.

Of course you cleverly left

Of course you cleverly left out that MSU has 3 of their 4 toughest conference games on the road. (Mich road, Nebraska road, Ohio State road, Penn State home, and PSU might be the weakest team of the 4)

If MSU's schedule is a joke,

If MSU's schedule is a joke, then what is UofM's??  A comedy feature?  UofM SOS ranks below MSU's on the NCAA site and Sagarin's.

I never said you argued

I never said you argued anything about deliberate avoidance of teams.....I simply added it as a comment.  But congrats, you fail to grasp my legitimate points.  You won't change my mind and i won't change yours.  So, have a nice day in la la land.

Wow...if you want to go back

Wow...if you want to go back far enough into history as to who has played whom more....then you could argue, for example, that UofM has played Ohio State and Wisconisn more often than Michigan State, but Michigan State has played Notre Dame and Penn State more often than Michigan... another point is that MSU is NOT deliberately trying to avoid Ohio State (in recent years), just like Michigan, for all I know, is not deliberately trying to avoid Wisconsin (in recent years).  If you want to pick a team or teams and compare who played whom more often there are tons of ways to do it.  My point is, the commentator on the topic (that i was responding to)picked a time frame where MSU has played Ohio State less often then Michigan and I picked a time frame when Michigan has played Wisconsin less often than MSU....then you picked a time frame when Michigan played Wisconsin and OSU more often than Michigan State....then I could pick a team or teams in a time frame where MSU played them more often than Michigan...one could go back and forth for a long time.   But i didn't start the silly comparison in this thread, the guy I was responding to did.  I'm am just showing it works both ways.

but if UofM was highly ranked

but if UofM was highly ranked (top 10, top 20), they would have it (UofM's ranking) right?

funny but you seem to miss

funny but you seem to miss the point. The point is MSU is accused of skipping a good team like OSU when UofM itself has been skipping a good team for years...like a team that is good enough to go the Rose Bowl several times while UofM avoids having to play them.

i agree.  Those bastards.

i agree.  Those bastards.  Roughly as lucky as UofM not having to play Wisconsin for 5 years.  Oh wait.....

"....delusional fan base and

"....delusional fan base and coaching staff playing down games that are yet to be played."

Link?  Sure much of the MSU fan base is hopeful of a great season (and why not, it's still early...I've read wildly ambitious predictions for UofM also) but most of the hype for MSU winning out until playing OSU (which most see as an OSU win) is coming from BTN, ESPN, and other media pundants and commentators.....certainly NOT from their coaching staff.

"When should the counting

"When should the counting actually start, when you're good enough to win or when you first field a team?  SHOULD THE YEARS THAT YOU SUCK OR CAN'T COMPETE NOT COUNT BECAUSE......?"

Oh, you mean like the hoardes of UofM fans that discount, minimize and practically nullify MSU's wins over Rich Rod and Hoke (especially Rich Rod) because UofM sucked or could not compete?

Wow.  What a great analogy!!!

Wow.  What a great analogy!!! LMAO!

You are so right.

Some kids today just don't understand the huge value of majoring in General Studies at UofM.

Not a single M fan or alum

Not a single M fan or alum should be bragging up Michigan as a great party school (and/or for making this list).   Looks hypocritical when M folks trash MSU for being a party school, but then spin it as positive when Michigan is considered one (especially when used as a "one up" on MSU, as done by some posters here).

Michigan fans need to bring

Michigan fans need to bring it even more.  I read this on Oregonlive written by an Oregon reporter who went to both games on Saturday:

"Inside the (Spartan) stadium it is quite the atmosphere, more intimidating than Michigan, a feeling of unhinged energy that ranges somewhere from entering a gladiator pit to a five-keg party." "It is Autzen Stadium on steroids...."

or this from Phil Knight:  Phil Knight reportedly told MSU Athletic Director Mark Hollis that it was the best football event -college or pro- that he had ever been to.

Exactly.  Why count wins

Exactly.  Why count wins against a pre-MSU school?

So if MSU was not really MSU

So if MSU was not really MSU yet, why count all those wins against a WMU/EMU equivalent?

Do they burn them as well as

Do they burn them as well as the folks in Ann Arbor?  Plenty of examples of couch fires in Ann Arbor too.

Making fun of MSU being a cow

Making fun of MSU being a cow college is lame, old, tiresome, and well, kind of dumb.  Especially when you consider that 10 of 14 Big Ten schools are cow colleges.  It just strikes of elitism. If you don't like cow colleges, you are in the wrong conference.

wow MGoblu8, brilliant

wow MGoblu8, brilliant deduction....maybe it takes more than a UofM education to understand ESPN was/is talking about the two states facing off, not the names of the schools....

Having me some Flat Tail and

Having me some Flat Tail and Oregon Trail  while watching replays of OSU PMOYs Jodi Ann Paterson and Sara Jean Underwood videos.  Yummy beavers.

One of the greatest days in

One of the greatest days in the history of sports!!!!!!  The alleged "GOAT" goes down despite being a 300-1 favorite!!!  Can't write it any better!

I'm looking for a classy

I'm looking for a classy comment or comments similar to this one made by a famous Mgoblogger about MSU's Ed Davis in another thread here:

"I don't understand why we all pretend to feel bad that this guy got injured and will miss the season. Yes, it sucks for him, but don't lie. Deep down you're kinda glad."

Come on, get with it guys!!!

and this thread supports the

and this thread supports the notion that UofM fans are obsessed over the obession MSU fans have with the obession UofM fans and the media have with Harbaugh.

Referring to MSU as the/a

Referring to MSU as the/a "cow college" is typically intended to be a put down often reserved for them, but you do realize that 10 of 14 (71.4 %) of all Big 10 universities are a "cow college"???  Looks like good company.

Wisconsin - cow college

Minnesota - cow college

Ilinois - cow college

Purdue - cow college

Ohio State - cow college

Penn State - cow college

Rutgers - cow college

Maryland - cow college

Nebraska - cow college

MSU - cow college

USA should have boycotted the

USA should have boycotted the event and all other sports events in Russia until they stop supporting separatists in Ukraine, stop sending "volunteers" to fight in Ukraine, AND return Crimea to Ukraine.  Besides, there is not much to see and do in Kazan anyway (i have actually been there twice).  Russia's so called annexation (actually an armed seizure) of Crimea is completely against international law.  Crimea is very historic and beautiful. (i have actually been there too.)

He never really answered a question, went off on some irrelevant tangent each time, and came across as a dufus with a goofy smile frozen on his face. Down vote me or ban me or whatever, but it's the truth.

Classy.

Reading the article, the young man sounds pretty contrite to me.  Having to pay tuition is like paying a huge fine as punishment.

yes

OSU will surprise.

You seem to have great

You seem to have great insight into what Dantonio would do differently with a highly ranked player....you want evidence, but offer none yourself.

Sept. 12.  First of 2 losses

Sept. 12.  First of 2 losses to OSU.  Ugh.

A  2 1/2 star (2-3 star

A  2 1/2 star (2-3 star depending on website) QB with MSU as his only power 5 offer is now overrated.  Gheeessh.  Give me a break.

The north endzone

The north endzone improvements/additions at Spartan Stadium are great, including new restrooms and concessions.  Very aesthetic inside and out.

At least Rittenberg got it

Agree big time.  Should be

Agree big time.  Should be number 1.

I see him going to Sparty.

I see him going to Sparty.  An easy choice.

Classes don't start until late Sept. at ORST

ORST football team definately could be on eastern time all week. ORST is on quarter system and classes don't start until the last week of Sept.

I think MSU is primed to continue as a strong team

"...why would anyone think MSU's next 5 years will be as nearly strong as the last 5?"

1.  Because their recruiting is trending upwards.

2.  Because they have made and continue to make major improvements to facilities on par with some of the best.

3. Because Dantonio isn't going anywhere for the next 5 years, and he hires exceptional coaches.

4.  Because of Simon and Hollis, 2 of the best (Pres. and AD).
