Michigan offers 2023 QB Kendrick Bell (Yes, relation)

Ronnie Bell's brother Kendrick, a 2-star QB with a UMass offer, has been offered by Harbaugh per his Twitter. Big bro with a predictably-awesome reaction, screen shot below. Really happy for the Bell family and the Michigan family. Clearly another potential high-character addition to the team.

Major American beer commercials used to be great comedy.  Bud Light and Miller Light especially knew the script.  They knew they were low-quality, cheap beers, so the best they could do was endear themselves to the drinking public with funny ads.

Then about 5-7 years ago, they thought it better to try to brand themselves as “cool” rather than goofy.  All downhill since.

Per Brice March, Bell the younger had 520 APY and 5 passing TDs in his last game.

Dude is currently a 2-star, with his only other offer being UMass.  BUT I would hope our experience with his older brother would lead every fan of Michigan to say “WE’LL TAKE THAT IN A HEARTBEAT!!!”

I just don't really understand what we're doing at the QB position in 2023. Jadyn Davis likely isn't reclassifying and I can't for the life of me figure out why Brady Drogosh doesn't have an offer. He'd have a better chance of seeing the field and Orji or Denegal imo

EDIT: I just watched Bell's tape and I'm kinda intrigued. He looks a legit 6'3", has good speed, and decent elusiveness. He's got a pretty good arm and makes some throws with different arm angles even with his mechanics being AWFUL. Someone below said he was offered as an athlete, which there could definitely be some potential there

Lots of excellent players play QB in high school - sometimes coaches just want the most talented guy at the position. I would imagine he would land on a WR position eventually, but it’ll be interesting to see if he can make the transition. He may continue to grow, time will tell how he develops

Has Michigan ever signed an Athlete and QB in the same class?

it sounds like Kendrick has a great attitude and commitment - like his brother.  And, Kendrick can also play some QB.

I’m sorry - now, I’m really confused.  I thought Sainristil was a receiver - and, now - he’s in the secondary.  And, is Donovan a RB?  If so, why did he throw the ball in the B1G CCG - or, has he become a QB?

Oh no, does this mean there’s a three way QB controversy now?

2 - I believe I understand some basic things about recruiting - and Michigan’s approach to player development.  One of the things Harbaugh likes to do is see prospects play different sports - to assess aspects of their athleticism.

In high school, a coach may have the quickest athlete at an offensive skill position - because that’s where he could make the biggest impact on that high school team.  I trust Michigan’s staff to work and communicate with prospects and players - to make sure they understand what the best position might be for them, based on their body structure and potential.

So, I have absolutely zero concern with their approach - who they think “fits here or there” - and moving players from one position to another.

My comment about “three QBs” - Cade, JJ, and Donovan - was intended to be sarcastic.  And, if they decide to sign two QBs in this, or a future, class.  No problem - they understand the roster and needs of the team “just a little bit better” - than a fan like me.

The young man actually has many of the excellent attributes that elite QBs possess. Here we are watching a skinny 6'3" 175# 16 year old youngster who has a relatively strong and dynamic arm-with a ton of natural giftedness that is VERY difficult to teach. His field-vision, especially in the midst of the chaos he creates when scrambling, and that lightning quick release could well be turned into something of significant value-especially with that vision. He is a quick-twitch athlete who is going to get faster and faster as he matures. Jimmy and Coach Weiss may well wish to keep him and develop him right here at QB.
