Going to be in Chicago for The Game next weekend, what’s the best Michigan bar around that area? Thanks in advance.

Me and my crew were at Duffy’s a few years ago for the MOON game. Matt Vogerich and his friends were at the table next to us. Super nice guy but he was torturing us and the rest of the bar with his vile mustard gas.  He thought it was funny.  We did not.  Cool story, bro...

Duffy’s is fun but a younger crowd and loud music. I used to go there a lot.

the Diag is a great spot to watch games. Rockit on Hubbard is fun too. West End is also really fun In the west loop and a bit more chill while still being an actual Michigan bar. I’d recommend diag or west end for most people. Young crowd lots of shots and stuff, go to Duffy’s or rockit.

I hate that people still go to Duffy’s.

Long story but...

back before the rich rod years duffys once told the Wall Street journal how much they made because they were a “Michigan “ bar.  Sooner after the alumni went to them and asked for a donation based on this. The donation would go to the alumni scholarship fund.  They paid $10000 a year.  During the rich rod years they stopped but we were able to gather a number of other bars.  I think it is at 5 or 6 now that contribute similar dollars each.  As President of the alumni association I tried to get them back.  They refused and continue to refuse.

Please visit the official bars.  You are helping CHICAGO youth get a Michigan education.

Also so if you are at Duffy’s and hear them say any of their money goes to the alumni call them out on their lie and report it to the alumni association.

There's also 50/50 in Wicker Park - pretty cool spot that just became an official sponsor bar this year.

Not a fan of Duffy's as they use M marks and pretend to be an official sponsor bar but refuse to donate to the scholarship fund like Diag, Rockit, 50/50, West End and Celtic Crown do.

If your mid-20s, Duffy’s. After that, Rockit and West End are best food. Get to West End early as seating is bizarre. Really early and you can get a booth with your own TV.

Diag is amazing but you’re going to want to get there as early as possible if you want to get in - it’s going to be full to capacity before 9:30am most likely, probably even earlier.

There’s a lesser known one in the Wicker Park area called Fifty50 that was pretty nice and not ridiculously crowded like Duffy’s/Diag usually are.

Went to Duffy's in 2016. The crowd was fine. Only two OSU fans in the mix. But you have to get there super early and probably stand in line beforehand if you plan to sit, especially with a group. Otherwise it's nuts to butts standing room only. I was lucky to get the last seat at the bar.

I was in Chicago for the marathon last month and watched the Maryland game at Rockit! They played the fight song after every score! It was a great environment and we had a great time! Highly recommend it.
