Mich. Daily Front Pages Post-Rose Bowl and NCG

Submitted by goblue20111 on January 12th, 2024 at 9:31 AM

Like many of you, I've spent a stupid amount of money on swag since Monday. One thing I wanted to get was prints of the Michigan Daily front pages post both wins.

I know you can get the prints directly from the Michigan Daily and have them framed. That said, I'd really rather not have to deal with shopping around to framing stores and then getting gouged (unless someone has a decent idea of how to do this inexpensively).

I was wondering if anyone has experience ordering from this site? You can get the prints and then have them framed for $70 a pop with free shipping. I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not or the quality.

Appreciate the insight, and Go Blue! Still living on cloud 9.

It's $15 per print on the daily site and it actually goes to UM. I bought one in '21, put it in a decent looking walmart frame, spent half what that one costs on your link and actually supported the Daily. You do you, and time is money, but I went with the Daily again for this year.

I've gotten them from the Daily store for the last three OSU wins and they've been fine. I definitely think you can find some frames and have it be way cheaper than 70 bucks a pop so I'd do that. I just get frames off of Amazon or go to Michael's.

Buying a frame at Michaels is a hell of a lot cheaper. But if that stresses you out then just buy the pre framed one. I have the last couple from the OSU games and I'll be getting this one (unframed)

I asked this same question a few days ago on the message board.  I mostly wanted to know if the Michigan Daily gets reimbursed from companies like this.  A few astute readers linked the Daily site where I can buy direct which is what I ended up doing.  I'll just frame them myself.   It's pretty easy to find an 11x17 frame on Amazon or your local framing store.

I have bought The Game and B1G champ from pages from 21-23 (like many others, this just felt like a special time) and now I have the Rose Bowl and National Title pages. Bought a National Championship banner from MDen and hope to have a wall dedicated for these 3 years!

Well I guess I'm in the minority here but I just bought one.  Yes, spent a few extra bucks but this way I know the paper isnt folded and I knows it will look nice.

Will look great on my basement wall next to the following framed "day after" newspapers:

84 Tigers

89 Michigan basketball

89, 90 & 04 Pistons

97 Michigan football

97, 98, 02 & 08 Wings

16 Cavs

Trust me, I know that too.

I've actually thought about how fandom evolves over time and how rooting for a pro team is so different (for me anyways) than rooting for a college team.  I WENT to Michigan, that's a part of me and always will be no matter where I live (and in my case it's Ohio) the rest of my life.

I rooted for Detroit professional teams growing up because I was born in Pontiac and my parents were Detroit fans.  But I've lived in the Cleveland area since 89 and slowly over time have seen my primary rooting emotions move from the Detroit teams of my youth to the Cleveland teams of my adulthood.  I've been here now 34 years, I lived in the Detroit metro area 21 and was only really a sports fan for probably 10 of those years so I've changed.

I'll ALWAYS root like hell for the Lions, the Pistons and the Red Wings though.  And typing this just reminded me I forgot to add in the Pistons wall prints I have up.  I'll go add them now.

I ordered mine from the Daily too. I was concerned that it might come with a crease but I’d like to frame it myself for one reason. I have some confetti from the game and I’m going to put that between the matting and the glass—figured that would be a cool way to display it.

Thanks for starting this thread.  I just bought the rose bowl and championship game from the Daily directly.  Going to be a nice addition to my office.  Dude next to me is a big buckeye fan so it is nice to have something to put up to combat his national championship poster.

I think it'd be cool, and I don't know how to see it, but it'd be cool to see this cover compared with the daily covers from the 11 previous national champions

The Daily has a shop on a 3rd party site that they have promoted, which offers larger sizes than the 11x17 offered directly from The Daily: https://www.redbubble.com/people/michigan-daily/shop

I have purchased several of these posters over the past few years (already received the Rose Bowl one, should get the national championship one in a few days), and just order an inexpensive frame from Michael’s to put them in. They all look great.

Anyone else feel that their choice of wording was a bit clunky, especially with this being such a collectible edition?

“Michigan wins national championship summiting Washington in Houston”
