Our household has done some cord cutting and streaming downsizing this past year, particularly after the football season ended. We've been doing a lot more reading since then.  I often read Horror, Fantasy and US History books.  Three that I have on my shelve to read our "Shadow of the Gods", "Dune" and "The Three Body Problem".  I'm excited about all three.  I think the The Three Body Problem got picked up by Netflix and I haven't read much Sci-Fi in my day.  I don't know much about Dune other than I drifted in and out of the movie when I was battling COVID and a high fever.

Anyone else been reading anything interesting?

Man's Fate by Andre Malraux

100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia-Marquez

and for football fans:

The Opening Kickoff- The Tumultuous Birth of a Football Nation by Dave Revsine, it covers college football from the 1890's to the early 1900s and its quite amazing how many of the issues of today were issues then.

Lots of personal/family history I wasn't aware of. Touched on his failings as a business owner and eccentric personality.

Mostly ignored his possible organized crime connections. Did admit him being connected to Trafficante and going to Cuba but not elaborating why.

Wished it had dug deeper into the possible conspiracy aspects like him being treated by CIA endorsed Dr West.

Totally ignored him knowing Oswald.

I am a huge fun of well written complex characters. Hence why I love Dune so much. here are some if you love character arcs.

The Murderbot series by Martha wells is fantastic. I have tried a lot of sci fi looking for a great new series and come away disappointed. Not Murderbot. Extremely entertaining.

gideon the 9th. I can’t even begin to describe how innovative and captivating this is. Hard to give a synopsis. Satirical lesbian sword wielding necromancers in a space opera?

city of theives. Setting is the seige of Stalingrad. Hilarious and heartbreaking.

papillion. I can’t believe it’s taken me 50 years to read this. Legendary true story of multiple breakouts from French South American penal colonies. Couldn’t put it down.

my list is the best. Trust me. I would know. I’ve read each of these.
