META NEGBANG: 502s and Heartbreak

Submitted by OwenGoBlue on

There are two goddamn active things on the board and the hamsters are kicking it with Freddy P. Soft

Let the backend hate out of your hearts. Please for the love of God don't make it about 17/18 year olds (for the adult babies in the room).

From the looks of it we have a few backs already in the stable that are the shit!!!! So Najee is not coming to M. So be it! Michigan Foootball was here long before Mr. Harris and Michigan Football will be here long after his career is over. We are fine and the future is looking good. Best of luck to Najee but I for one am sure we have the talent to make his name a distant memory!

Go Blue!!!!!

Meh, how do you know the kid doesn't turn out to be the next Derek Green? Evans, Higdon, Isaac, O'Samuels, and Walker should be enough. The only thing is, if he knew where he was going like he said, I hope he didn't string Harbaugh along till the end.

I almost exclusively view the site via the app now because a) ads and b) it looks like a high schooler's site that's stuck in the late 90s.

I'm also getting real annoyed with the inability to handle moderate traffic spikes.

Negbang me.

I get the 502 error only f I try to load this site up during a game. Then I feel a moment of frustration. Then I ask myself why I am looking at mgoblog and not 110% focused on the game and don't care anymore about website issues. I hate when people talk about Brian's success. I doubt he is flush with cash. If he was he would spend the money. I doubt he is like Jeffery Loria waiting for us to donate the money for it. He obviously loves this website and it is now his primary source of income. A smart guy like him would spend the money if the ROI was worth it.

Yeah I don't buy that excuse either.  They run ads, they have sponsored content, Brian has actual employees.  This isn't a rinky dink blog anymore.  In the US, Alexa has it ranked around 5500 -- which is pretty good.  Its also basically the same rank as Eleven Warriors.  Which, if you want an idea of how outdated this site has gotten, take a look over there.  They get the same amount of traffic as this site, also have paid contributors like this site, and somehow they are able to manage not having a site that looks like it hasn't been updated on the front or backend in 10 years.

The content is decent. Let's not go overboard here. If we want to be completely honest, sometimes new content is mostly things have already been discussed in the threads but fleshed out by good writing. It's not exactly breaking news here that often.

grizzly and polar bears are pretty close genetically and you wouldn't really want to eat a girzzly unless you were starving.  i know the native people up in alaska will eat polar bear, but i wouldn't.   can't speak to hammering pandas though.   i think they are quite elusive and rare, as it is hard to get those paws around a hammer handle.
