The meaning of this tweet? Going Blue?
D'Arco Perkins-McAllister tweeted this today:
I like this player A LOT. And there's reputable Crystal Ball predictions for him to M. So I'm hoping it's meaning he's going to commit to Michigan. But it could mean one of a thousand things.
But this would look nice at Michigan:
Would be a nice 2022 group for these two great coaches to work with:
As long as it's not Milicic.
First thing I thought of. Do we really want another athlete named Darko/D'arco in Metro Detroit? Of course this kid was probably born after (or less than a year before) Darko was drafted and I haven't watched a Pistons game in a decade so maybe I should let it go.
D'Arco is pronounced dee-arko. Darko is dar-ko.
Let's not confuse the two.
The Human Victory Cigar!
I’m definitely down with the idea of passing on a player because 18 years ago the Pistons drafted a guy with a vaguely similar name, good call.
Put me in coach. I'm ready to play!
Today?
We could use a centerfielder. Can you play there?
Who's on first?
I got a beat up hoop, a scuffed up ball, and a brand new pair of shoes. Wait, wrong sport…
Saw this tweet too. Mario liked it. I got a feeling he’s coming. Take it as my gut ball
Definitely call a doctor if your ball winds up in your gut, though
247 shows we have nine safeties on the roster before anyone else commits.
11% of the roster already committed to Safeties, and recruiting more?
Something about that doesn't seem right. Conceivably that would be 15% of the scholarship players dedicated to Safety.
I think that tweet means that he think it's about time and that's he's ready.
But I might be wrong
I don’t know how you interpreted it that way, but that’s just crazy talk
You shouldn't read too much into things. Deconstructionism is a menace to society.
I'll color you correct.
Or should I color you a deep hue of smart alek?
Nawww. He's good as he is, a nice Darker Blue.
I'm for that version, too.
Patton posted something similar I think the other day maybe?
I think he said something about how no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor, dumb bastard die for his.
Or maybe I've got the wrong Patton.
Patton was nicknamed " Old Blood and Guts"
The grunts said: "his guts, our blood"
He was much more clear about his intentions to commit soon, but I think he's probably going to Texas
Lets not forget about Green, Turner, Perry, Seldon. Most of those guys should be ready to see the field this year (another reason why Ambry leaving was the worst departure)
I expect the tandem for next season to be Green/Will
Green was showing plus athleticism and improved his consistency as the season went along.
He was the best CB we had.
That "tire fire on the other side" you're talking about is Vincent Gray - a kid who drastically improved his play through the season. He was a passable corner by the end of the year, reliably covering his man and giving Green time to improve. He's a step slower than a starting corner should be and is not the shut-down CB we want, but he really improved his game throughout the season.
Isn't improvement from game to game what we like to see from college players, and from the coaches? We certainly saw that from Gray. It's disappointing that people only remember the two worst performances he had on the entire year - and continue to shit on him because of it. Yet, those same people will give the offense a pass on yet another shittastic display of heritage football.
And DJ Turner has much more potential than Gray. Depending on who you ask, Turner may have already passed Gray
Gray also was not helped out by his coaches. Main reason I’m glad Brown is gone: we can see how a game is being called by refs and we can see how the opposition is attacking, yet Don changed nothing with his defense to count we the actual in game action. He sacrificed Gray, who was really strong in 2019 and solid for most of 2020’s shit show.
Can't agree with this. How did he sacrifice Gray? He was lost out there. You have to expect your #1 CB at the time to cover a mediocre WR. Gray looked better in 2019 because he was #3.
I was just meaning it's a nice haul for 2022.
Is there a nonconfrontational way to point out the spelling error?
Did you mean safeties? Doh!
I can't edit it either.
EC - You can’t fix “safties” but you can fix “alek”.
Is there a good reason not to confront anything but a loaded weapon weilder head on?
Here? Absolutely.
Wherever this is? Probably not.
Was actually supposed to read "LARPing to Literacy Night". There were a lot of guys dressed up with armor and swords learning how to read.
This class should finish around #10-15 spot again. The ranking will probably be a lot like last year’s class. I should be excited because a lot of talented guys are coming to Michigan, but looking at OSU’s recruits has me a little jaded. Six five star recruits in 2021 and another four so far this year. At least Harbaugh is building a team that should be competitive with osu, but we’ll see.
It looks like Ohio St is throwing a serious hat into the ring for Domani Jackson.
There's no reason a better-coached #10 class can't beat a well-coached #2 class.
Just sayin'
So THATS why we haven't beaten OSU but once since my (now college graduate) son was born
Steve Clinkscale is the better DB coach of the two schools.
Folks more in the know than I seem to believe Kody Jones is coming in as a cornerback.
He's a nickel corner but has flexibility to play safety. He'd be reminiscent of Tyree Kinnel at safety.
Steve Clinkscale wanted Pollard when he was coaching at Kentucky. Is there room for Jones at corner?
Per the front page today:
They have three cornerbacks in it for the first time since 2018, three plausibly good ones who fit their intended roles for the first since Jourdan Lewis’s class, and are building depth at the position that often needs to fill four spots on the field at once for the first time since we began braying for it in the Marlin Jackson years. They’re probably not done at cornerback either, as another lengthy target, CA 3* Jahlil Florence, seems to have Michigan near the top of his list, and GA 3* Andre Stewart, one of Clinkscale’s Kentucky commits, was offered last month. Restock! Restock! Restock!
Get him and Domani, plus the young guys we have on the roster and Will and Kody, and the depth of talent will start to be able to compete with OSU on the back end.
Get Nolen and keep the guys now, and the front will be able to pressure and constrain the run.
Stop creeping high schoolers social media and trying to decipher what everything they say means in regards to where they're going to play football.
