I'm not good at embedding the medias but great reaction from Micah Parsons in the article from On3 (no paywall)

Streak continues! Well done Mazi.

But... OSU has 3 guys already drafted....
None of whom have any gold pants.
April 27th, 2023 at 11:29 PM ^
hey that doesn't define
OH WAIT IT DOES
IT TOTALLY DOES
April 27th, 2023 at 11:47 PM ^
One of them is supposed to be a really great QB following in the line of other great QBs.
His offensive line wont be able to dominate like at OSU.
His receivers wont be able to dominate like at OSU.
And the two biggest games of his career he scored exactly 2 tds per game.
Houston is putting a lot of faith in that Georgia game, but then again outside of a few of us who isnt?
I was listening to an analyst yesterday (in Canada, but still) who said he'd take Stroud because he's a "gamer" that shows up in big games and only brought up Georgia. It's like, what did he do in the game literally right before that one? Like you've clearly only watched him in that Georgia game.
Yeah if you listen to him talking right after he was drafted he was talking about how "God" had been testing him, prob about the test score leak thing. Like dude you haven't even put on NFL pads yet and already you think you're being tested? Not gonna make it.

Congrats to Mazi.

Go Blue!
I love to see Michigan men drafted. I just hate to see them drafted by the Cowboys.

The unmovable force!

Was going to post this but it wouldn’t let me on mobile - kudos to you sir! I was watching the Bleacher Report live stream and they had Micah Parsons on; FWIW Parsons was ecstatic about the Mazi pick. Wishing him all the best in Dallas! Go Blue!
April 27th, 2023 at 11:27 PM ^
Nice. I want to see him crush a turducken on Thanksgiving!
April 27th, 2023 at 11:29 PM ^
Pick 27*
edit - I see the counting with the Dolphins forfeit pick

Love how Mazi was like fuck it, I'm doing my ESPN intro video shirtless lol
I remember being impressed by his preseason interviews before his freshman year, dude really put together a career at Michigan... good luck in the pros Mazi!

The detroit media said his life should be behind bars after the gun "charges" though.
April 27th, 2023 at 11:50 PM ^
Imagine if he stretched for an extra 20 minutes and ate a cheeseburger from Harbaugh. No string of pearls would be safe in the Greater Metro area all the way to Lansing.
April 28th, 2023 at 12:00 AM ^
Wait, there’s still media in Detroit?
Open carry in texas

I had some things i needed to do before going to bed and had the Draft on but wasn't paying any attention to it after the Lions 2nd pick. I didn't figure there would be anything of interest happening until the second round tomorrow. Then the Mazi Smith call got my attention. I had to shift my attention to find out who drafted him.
It didn't think the ABC guys had much information on him. They made no mention of his freakish athleticism.
April 28th, 2023 at 12:01 AM ^
ESPN threw all kinds of shade at him, it irritated me.
April 27th, 2023 at 11:32 PM ^
NICE!!!!
April 27th, 2023 at 11:33 PM ^
I thought for sure the Lions were planning on taking him at 34 after passing on Carter.
April 27th, 2023 at 11:51 PM ^
You mean they tried to get too cute with the draft and got fucked by the smarter teams ahead of them?
weird, so unlike the Lions…
Brad Holmes has earned some trust...although I do not love the picks so far.
April 27th, 2023 at 11:42 PM ^
What he did wasn’t a crime in Texas. Good luck big guy!
April 27th, 2023 at 11:48 PM ^
Congrats mazi.
This Lions draft has me really cheesed off. What a disaster. At least my eagles are kicking ass.
April 27th, 2023 at 11:52 PM ^
Good for Mazi and good for Michigan's recruiting pitch. Good all around
April 28th, 2023 at 12:03 AM ^
Wow. They kept that streak alive even thru Rich Rod era.
Honestly, it doesn't really look that close. I get what you're saying, RR era widely considered to be a 'lesser talent' era. But not really a lesser NFL talent era it seems. The 2013 draft class of Denard and Big Will Campbell appears to be as close to breaking the streak, but two guys were drafted that year, and Denard was always going to have someone take a flyer on him.
PS I just grabbed this graphic from Wiki based on timeline, most of these guys were recruited by RR, but not all.

Congratulations to his mother for raising such a Great young MAN!
What the fuck happened to the Lions draft room?
I’m sure Campbell and Gibbs will have fine careers but neither comes at a huge position of need. They could have gotten both these guys in round two. It’s like they lost their targets right before each pick and just unraveled.
It’s just knee cap bizarre.
Well Anzalone is a sieve, so there is that.
Yeah I'm not a fan. A 3rd down RB in the top 15 is a complete luxury pick. And I don't care if Cambell was the best LB in the draft, it was a horrible LB class. I keep seeing throwback LB thrown around. Well there is a reason it's called throwback, because that type of LB doesn't work in today's NFL.
Whenever I hear someone praise Campbell, I remember how Corum absolutely scorched him on a juke and ran away from him the the championship game. He may be a solid pro, but hard to forget that play.
I laughed when they showed a highlight of him making admittedly a nice play tackling Corum and all I could think about was the contrast of Corum absolutely depantsing Campbell near the goal line
April 28th, 2023 at 10:03 AM ^
Corum would do that to a lot of folks. If that is your measure…hmmm.
Corum’s excellence doesn’t diminish another’s excellence.
April 28th, 2023 at 10:02 AM ^
He is really athlete. 6’5” and can move sideline to sidelines. Very good in a zone(not surprisingly) and can match up with TEs.
Instant upgrade over Analzone.
April 28th, 2023 at 11:07 AM ^
Right. He's good against guys like the Bus but he retired long ago.
