Good but also bad.

Great and terrible so I guess that’s a wash? No biggie, but get kick coverage cleaned up. Go blue!
edit: Also, the refs missed an illegal shift on our fake punt. Barrett and McCurdy were both moving at the snap.

Just boot it through the endzone, Moody has plenty of leg for that. Michigan's been playing with fire trying to pop up kick it to the 3 and they finally got burned.

I don't know if I've ever seen a game (at least not a Michigan game) where each team had a kickoff return TD. Has it happened to us before?
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:23 PM ^
I’ve seen several games where the team returns the opening kickoff and then gets blown out. Glad it didn’t happen to us.

It was hard to imagine a universe where Michigan loses this game after scoring on the opening kickoff return. I was really surprised we didn't win by more considering the sacks and turnovers the defense produced. Offense....shrugs.
November 2nd, 2019 at 10:11 PM ^
Defense only produced one turnover actually, and it was deep in our territory.

It's kinda true, the offesne didn't light it up. But Locksley and Gattis used to work together. Locksley probably know what to expect.

More good than bad! Great way to start the game and great fake punt to keep momentum!
November 3rd, 2019 at 11:31 PM ^
I don't know if Maryland even considered it could be a fake. At least it looked that way.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:14 PM ^
I only created this one just to see how many people focus on the kick return for a TD or the kick return for a TD but the bad one.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:24 PM ^
I thought it was about DPJ taking the last punt instead of letting it go into the end zone.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
Ours set the tone for the game. Theirs was a nice little consolation prize.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:21 PM ^
I thought it was to feature DPJ Fielding a punt at the 40 on the run to save field position. Thanks for clarifying.
November 2nd, 2019 at 6:35 PM ^
Don't forget about the well executed fake punt.

Probably Will Hart’s best game all season. I’ve been very critical of him this season but he had a great game.

Nice job by Devin Gil on both the opening TD and the partially blocked punt. Way to contribute even after losing your staring LB job.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:22 PM ^
More excited about our kickoff return by freshman Giles Jackson than theirs. Nice fake punt call that worked. Hate to see a missed fg, but at least the kick missed narrowly.

Clearly great day for STs

FG for Nordin!
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
We roughed the md kicker and got away with it.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
On the partially blocked punt in the 2nd half?
November 2nd, 2019 at 6:35 PM ^
Is it ok to hit the kicker if ball it blocked/touched?
November 2nd, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
Yes. How do you not know that?
November 3rd, 2019 at 1:55 AM ^
You are not as curious as I would have thought.
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
Ball was tipped!
November 3rd, 2019 at 11:29 PM ^
It was tipped. So it was ok to run into the kicker.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
Hosed the shut out.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:30 PM ^
Giving up a return TD and missing a FG under 40 yards is not great, Bob. Our return was nice but I'd rather be mistake free.
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:28 PM ^
I liked the part where Giles Jackson ran a really long ways and ended up in the endzone and UM got points for it.
November 2nd, 2019 at 9:39 PM ^
Moody's miss was unfortunate, but I still trust him. His 2 misses this year have been by about 5 feet combined.
Still a bit afraid of Nordin.
Still annoyed they don't have Moody boot it into the endzone more with dangerous returners. Hamler returned one too if not for a hold.
November 3rd, 2019 at 1:22 AM ^
The fake punt was nice.
November 3rd, 2019 at 11:29 PM ^
I loved that one. Michigan as a team was a snow plow. It was like Maryland was going backwards downhill.
November 3rd, 2019 at 4:02 AM ^
Just boot the ball into the end zone for a touchback.
It always seems like teams play with fire on kick returns. There's several walk on athletes usually on the kick team and the other team's returner is typically one of their best athletes. It seems like a low reward-high risk scenario to pop kick it to like the 3 yard line to maybe gain 5 to 10 yards at best of field position versus the alternative of just giving the other team the ball at the 25.

Chris Partridge should get a raise
