Amazes me anyone here could have any respect for that fucking piece of shit.

It helps when the the local media is your propoganda machine - can say and do anything with no negative press.

That's what I say anytime anyone on here chastises anyone for not respecting him and his program. He's immature and doesn't respect us so why should we? I think Izzo whines a lot but he goes to hospital visits with Beilen and patted Harbaugh on the back during the bball game last february. He's at least a good guy.

Didn't this moron say after this past year's game something to the sort -It didn't have to be this way or something like that. He even brought up the term little brother again when no one on our side even said a damn thing about it.

The media sure spent a lot of time compling clips of that spike in the field, but conveniently ignored compiling clips of Denard's neck being twisted a few years ago.

Dantonio: "It is so much you can take of Michigan's arrogance. Yes we wanted to shove it down their God Damn throats until they chokes and pukes up all their maize and blue crow."

Hoke picks up the phone to call

Hoke: "Hey Mark, I heard you were uspet with us"

Dantonio: "Damn right i am, do you know one of your arrogant ass players threw a spike on our field. What the hell do you have to say about that?"

Hoke: I had no idea. I had a couple of extra ribs before the game and couldn't get out on the field as fast as i would have liked. But I heard about it. That is unacceptable. Don't worry, i will throw the player under the bus as soon as I can and then issue an apology in a press release so that everyone knows how much we respect you and the Spartans.

Dantonio: "You better, and make sure you never send one of you stupid coaches to speak at any high school coaches meeting i am at. I don't want to hear what they have to say."

Hoke: No, no of course, that was a misunderstanding. I talked to him about that, but what can you do, good help is hard to come by."

There truly isn't a coach in all of football that I hate more than Dantonio. For a guy that plays up UofM's arrogance so much, he sure is an arrogant POS. Can't wait until we beat him again.

2010.  If I remember correctly, our staffer greeted him as he got off the bus by saying something like welcome to Ann Arbor, best of luck this weekend and good health regarding his recent heart attack.  He stuck out his hand to Dantonio who did not stick his out, instead walking away saying, "Get the hell away from me."

The staffer had been working the job for xx years and said that was the first time any head coach did not have the dignity to shake and his hand and thank him.

Same guy who said, "Fuck off" to one our our stadium officals who wished Good Health while he was rolled into the stadium on his hospital bed a few years back.

Harbaugh might not develop any real animosity with Urban, but it's hard not to think Harbaugh and Dantonio are going to get real heated with each other after a game in the next couple years.

Having said that, it's hard seeing that as a dig once I saw the video.

Guys calm down... it was said in jest, but it's Dantonio so obviously everything sounds serious with that dude....

The tension in that room throughout the video must've been insane though.

Truthfully, I thought they all handled it pretty well.  You know that the media members were tryng to bait them into a pissing match, but they didn't fall for it.  They're professionals.

They'll get their day to make a statement.  They don't need to do it in a side-event in June.

Am I the only one who didn't see what Dantonio said as that big of a deal? They were all smiling and laughing. Doesn't seem like much of a dig to me.

I somewhat agree, but even when doing nothing at all, the guy has earned the venom from UM fans. However, maybe posting about every little thing we may perceive as disrespectful towards Michigan isn't the right reaction either. Let's save our posting material for the overt digs, the things we ALL agree are classic Dantonio ass-hattery moments.

If we can just get pinky to chime in we'll be able to check all our perpetually aggrieved posters boxes...

He's referred to Coach Harbaugh on a couple previous occasions in which the subject came up...I can't even believe that was an actual story/headline!  Seemed like a very cordial gathering amongst some of the best college football coaches in the country...And James Franklin.

Agreed.  Dantonio does many dick things on his own.  We don't need to fabricate an innocuous comment into something more than it really is.

Jim Harbaugh kept trying to change the subject back to the events of the day when they were talking about Urban's National Championship.  Does that really mean he was trying to diminish Urban's moment in the spotlight?

Let it go.  There will be plenty of real drama ahead.

To be fair, Dantonio is notoriously awkward in social settings as well as at pressers, so well it definitely has the appearance of a little dig (and it seems like it was meant as a joke), we'll only really know it is a pervasive issue if at some point he introduces his wife and kids as "colleagues" or something excessively formal and rather nonsensical. Harbaugh didn't seem to react to it at all really. Actually, he seemed to be at least briefly paying attention to something else altogether, which would be a normal reaction to Dantonio speaking.

What is very evident - and others have mentioned it - is the very tense dynamic in that room.

From a Detroit News article a few days ago: "Dantonio was asked what he thought about Harbaugh taking off his shirt at a camp in Alabama last week. "Looks can be deceiving," Dantonio said. "Coach Harbaugh's a great coach. You know he's with the players and he's having a good time."

I can't stand Dantonio, but this has to be at least the third time I've seen somebody start a thread taking some Dantonio quote out of context, trying to fabricate animosity where there is none.  Yet.

Dantonio was actually somewhat gracious at SMSB, which seems to be the result of his ongoing correspondence classes at charm school.  He's got a long way to go, and he's a dickhead in numerous ways.  But if you look at the quotes and watch the video, he said nothing out of line (IMO).

Give it time, OP, and we'll likely see genuine and delicious animosity between these two.  But I've not seen it yet.

If there was any animosity in his comment, it was pretty benign.  But it's hard to get past 7+ years of grumpy, arrogant talk from his mouth.  All I care about are his contrite words on the evening of October 17th.

Dantonio was OK in his comments.

However, he knows the game has changed.  He feasted on RR and Hoke, but he sees the Harbaugh train on the tracks, gaining speed.

Dantonio is a good coach, so he also realizes Harbaugh is the real deal and that's got to concern him and take up some space in his brain.  He worked hard to gain an advantage over UM, but now that's going to be lost.
