MAC Championship Game Thread - CMU vs Miami (OH) 12pm ET ESPN2 Ford Field

If you didn't know there is a Michigan team playing for a championship vs...an Ohio team!  Coach McElwain (no longer associated with sharks humping or anything nefarious) has done a great job of revitalizing CMU.

Have a few alums on the board (including me) who are pumped for this game!

FIRE UP THOSE OHIO REDHAWK BASTARDS CHIPS!

Yeah - CMU literally GIFTED Miami 3 points there.

Still not the worst fake punt in Ford Field history.  Back in the 2017 Motor City Bowl, I remember NIU doing a fake punt on 4th and 18 from their own 11.  It didn't work.  Duke got a very easy 7 points.

slight thread jack.  watching some of the FCS playoffs.  james madison is beating monmouth 28-21, and they have only played 3 minutes of the second quarter.  some fun stuff there.

How could you encourage your kids to make their college decision based in playing FCS football ?? I have no kids, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable with that at all if it ever comes about. Blows my mind people would choose to play a sport with a 0.01% chance of getting paid someday, over the best academic situation.

gucci, not sure how you got that take.  my 4 oldest sons all play football and absolutely love the game.  one is playing in college now.  the next has no other greater desire than to do that and is being recruited accordingly.  i suspect the next two, those twins in that avatar, will also have choices about football.   it will be their decision, in consultation with mrs. XM and myself, where they want to go to school with academics, faith and football being the main criterion.

I don’t think it’s logical to play a sport in college if it means going to a not so great school (unless professional sports are a semi realistic possibility). So if my kids ever had the option to play FCS football, I would recommend (not demand) against it. Hell, I would recommend against playing MAC football.
