A lot of money on Wisconsin in Vegas

Submitted by wresler120 on

The line opened at a 7 and within a matter of 1 day the line has moved 2 points to a -9. After the suspension(s) get handed down this line could easily be a -10 1/2, That's pretty sad when you are coming off a huge win against your rival, are playing a primetime game at 8 PM, have College gameday coming to your campus, it's your homecoming game, and your still picked to get your ass bludgeoned by 2 scores. I can only imagine Vegas knows they are in a deep pile of shit on this game, and I could see them using a suspension as their scape goat to take this line off.

Sparty is due for a letdown after winning their Super Bowl.  Then, they were stupid enough to talk trash against a team to which they are physically inferior.  Then, their DC made comments that are sure to get them at least 15 personal foul penalties if they continue to play as they are.  There should also be suspesions for at least the Wiscy game.

Sparty could end up losing this game so bad that they wish they were playing Alabama.

Can we get over it already? We sound like a bunch of children. We couldn't beat them so were going to point to Wisconsin and Nebraska to do our bidding? Who are we? Michigan State running to Ohio State? You know who I hope embarasses MSU? The University of Michigan in 369 days.

A Wisconsin win puts us tied for first in the division with Sparty, with them holding the tiebreaker. Assuming Nebraska wins against Minnesota and Iowa beats IU (and yes, we should be pulling for Minnesota and IU as hard as Wisconsin) we're in a four-way tie with Nebraska, Iowa and Sparty. We need Sparty to lose one more after Wisconsin and we need to beat Nebraska and Iowa.

Assuming that doesn't happen, things are going to be really messed up. The division seems a lot closer now than a week ago.

Well, being a fan, I'm actually doing nothing. If you think this post was about how the dynamics of divisional alignments affects Michigan's standing in the B1G and not about Michigan State being embarassed by Wisconsin right after they drilled us then I don't know where to begin telling you about tone in writing.

makes you sound like a whiny bitch.   Does it make you feel better to comment on the line against a Wisconsin team that would be -20 against Michigan?

Nothing kills crowds like running the ball on the road, grinding out 8 mintue touchdowns.

Wisconsin might have the biggest and most fundamentally sound offensive line in the country. Plus two running backs who are Leveon Bell and Baker with actual speed.

Oh. Did I mention that their O also has a QB who can run a bit?

Dont forget, their D Line is ferocious, and their secondary is a bunch of veterans.

If this is meant as criticism of MSU, it's weak.  People think that Wisconsin is really good, so they'd be favored by 9+ points against almost anyone.

Also, for our own sake, I say we try to avoid turning this into a week of "MSU's gonna lose so bad - it's gonna be awesome!" threads.  It might not happen, and even if it does, do you really care that much?

the up and  coming games  M plays and they  win out the legends divsion so they can play the B10 championship game. In the end M  lost to a better team and I hope they learn from the mistakes and fix them.

Like you, I'd like to see M win out.  And win the Legends.  Which will ONLY happen if MSU stumbles a couple of times in the coming weeks.  Like, the next two weeks in particular, when they face Wisconsin and then travel to Nebraska.

And MSU's having to play without Gholston and Rush can only help them lose those two games.

This whole mess with the (presumed) suspensions is nothing but good.  It places MSU in the national spotlight at the moment that they are facing Conference disciplinary measures.  It casts Dantonio and Narduzzi as outlaws.  It makes the program look nasty.  On national tv.  Replete (hopefully) with lots of replays of the outrages committed against Michigan.  It will hurt their image.  It may hurt their recruiting.  It might damage this season's record beyond repair for them.

What is not to like about pushing this story to maximum effectiveness, to influence any suspensions and make MSU look bad?

MSU beating a damn good Wisconsin team last year.  I wouldn't count them out just yet.  Also you have to think Russell Wilson is going to come back to earth one of these games...

For Wilson. He is the real deal ... look at his career stats at NC State, which is a program that is not near the level Wisconsin is at right now. The only way I see Wisconsin not playing for a National Championship is if Oklahoma and LSU/Alabama go undefeated, and they never get the chance to jump them in the polls

Wilson is legit.  The only game I really watched was UW/Neb., but he was hitting receivers on the numbers from like 30 or 40 yards.  Great timing on his throws, great pocket presence and outstanding mobility.  He is the whole package, much more so than anybody I have seen in the B1G in quite a while, including TP or Troy Smith.  It actually pains me to say this, since I thought that he was getting too much hype when he came to UW and that he would be quickly exposed, but that does not appear to be the case.  Of course MSU could still expose him, but if they leave ANYBODY open like they were doing to us on Sat., RW will make them pay dearly.

I want Michigan to win the Legends , therefore I'm rooting for Wisconsin this weekend.  That being said, the bitter side of me really wants to see them run it up on the Spartans.  With no Michigan game this weekend, Go Badgers.

...has been destroyed by highly ranked favorites easily covering this year as the haves and have not programs become more widely separated. I'm sure this game won't be any different.

last Saturday.   I root for MSU and OSU to lose every game they play in football and basketball, regardless of the season.  So the Wisconsin game is no different.  In regards to last Saturday, the only followup I want is for Gholston to not see the field for a looonnnggg time.  What he did to Denard in the pile was beyond reprehensible.  He could have broken his neck and paralized him or worse.

Dantonio's words will come back to haunt him in good time, "Pride comes before the fall."  Well Douchetonio, yours is coming.

Wisconsin isn't really road-tested either, remember.  Last time didn't go so well for them at MSU.  While I certainly expect Wisco to win easily, it might not be by double-digits (unless they get really angry, then watch out).  Going on the road in college football is hard, regardless of who you are.

Wisconsin will go into the game expecting shanks and razor blades, and they may not be disappointed.

I think you guys just want to see some acknowledgement that what happened last Saturday wasn't right, and I don't blame you. Count me as dumbfounded that MSU hasn't announced a suspension yet or forced Narduzzi to read a "my comments were taken out of context/not the way we do things here/to the extent I offended anyone I'm sorry" statement.

I'm fully familiar with Dantonio's tactics after witnessing the Jim Sorgi choking and let's face it, there is an inherent conflict of interest in having the person who is paid to win football games also be the person responsible for doling out punishments to his football players. What really surprises me, however, is that no faction of alumni/adminstrators has come forward and said "this is embarrassing and not what we want to be known for." In other words, if Dantonio can't see what's right, where are the reasonable people to turn on the lights? This should have been taken out of his hands by the end of yesterday.

Although MSU has never been on the same plane as Michigan, I lose respect for that institution by the minute.
