No politics is a good rule to keep in mind here.

From a football perspective - Obama is likely very popular amongst most of the kids we recruit and building some ties to a President re-inforces what we are as an accademic institution.

From recruiting, I view this is a big score.

MOD EDIT - This one is starting to go in all sorts of directions that it shouldn't. It was a nice bit of news, not political in the least really by itself, but alas....the search for nice things begins again. - LSA

As well as most of this community based on the votes on your comments, but nice comeback. Mr. Yost, why do you get all douchey sometimes? Most of the time you are great and have valuable insights, but damn. Every once in awhile you just get all crabby reeeeaaalll quick.

This also applies to other positions in the government (secretaries, congressmen, etc.). I view it not so much about the people who are in (or were in) those positions, but respect for the history of our country and their place in it.

I bet all the people that see nothing wrong with this, would fucking flip if President Trump were on the other end of the invite.

Keep politics out of football Jim. Unreal.

Generally speaking, tools are useful in some capacity. They just are only practical in specific situations.

He's more like a piece of shit. Smelly waste rejected from the rest of the smelly waste.

...Wait, did I just say he was banned from MLive?

There's plenty of room for reasonable and respectful policy disagreements between adults. And then there's stuff which has nothing to do with policy or politics and everything to do with being a thoroughly reprehensible human being.

  • “I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married.”
  • “I did try and fuck her. She was married.”
  • “Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”
  • “Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”

for reminding us of how the fake news of the left and the lies and deciet of the Democratic National Committee cost Bernie Sanders the nomination and likely the presidency as well. But, so long was we have you on the board to perpetuate fake news, we'll continue to be enlightened with lies.

But I went to speech given by George W down here in Cayman (I even got to meet him briefly afterwards).  I thought spoke really well (it was about his life, family and life after the presidency - he stayed away from politics).

I came away thinking, where was this guy for those 8 years?  People would have liked this version of George W more than the deer headlights look he often gave during his formal addresses.

I think Harbaugh is being smart here and I think Obama was an average president...oops no politics rule.

#1 Obama is popular amongst many recruits.

#2 A former president and first lady at the game would gain media attention, which helps recruiting.

#3 It is a great opportunity for the players to meet any former president.

Harbaugh is an innovator.

you have them in the wrong order.  Providing experiences for his players (and himself) is what Harbaugh is all about.  Whether you voted for Obama or not every 19-22 year old should relish the opportunity to meet a former President.  For the same reason I would expect the team to accept the invitation to visit the White House after winning the NC regardless of who is in office.

Let's see, twelve Presidents owned slaves, Wilson segregated the federal government, Hayes ended Reconstruction, Buchanan endorsed Dred Scott, Nixon appointed judges to fulfill a promise to southern politicians to re-segregate the schools...
