Pretty good day for Detroit/Michigan sports fans!  Of course Lions huge win and don't look now but the Wings are playing some good hockey right now.  Love that we get to see Hutch and Larkin representing Michigan and having great seasons/careers.  GO BLUE!!

In other Detroit sports results today, the downtown Detroit parking lots soundly thrashed everybody's wallets.  With scheduled start times of 3 and 5 pm, I was hearing last week that the pre-paid price of parking was some of the most expensive ever seen downtown .

I saw a story on CBS News Detroit about parking scams. From a reporter who went to a place that advertised $40 parking, when some lots were $100+. So she pulled up and we see a paper sign taped over a metal one, a woman who's not wearing a safety vest or any insignia. The reporter got suspicious and asked who she worked for. She said she got the job off Craig's List. Didn't know or wouldn't say who posted it. Then she took off and some guy was trying to get the money, but also didn't have any good answers. Then the cops showed up, and he took off.

From one Tampa native to another, we don't have too much to complain about. In the last 3.5 years alone, Tampa has gotten:

1) Three Stanley Cup trips, and two titles back to back.

2) A Super Bowl championship, led by the GOAT, being the first team to ever do it on their home turf.

3) A World Series trip, done by a team that finds a way to consistently perform/moneyball at a high level with two of the biggest spenders in baseball within its own division.

Detroit has been starving for something to cheer about since whenever it was that the last time the Red Wings were any good. They can have their time in the sun.

Love that place!  I'm way overdue for a visit to Nemo's---it's been about 5 years since I've parked there, had a burger and some brews, and then enjoyed their shuttle bus to Comerica and back (done so about a dozen times over the years).

[edit 2:15pm] Does Nemo's now run their shuttle buses to and from Little Caesars?
