Lee Corso’s gotta go...

He had a great run on Game Day, but he’s losing his shine. His head gear pick was cringeworthy.

He truly makes College Game Day what it is. I know he’s getting old. However, he loves being up on stage with the crew and the crew loves him. Let him go until he can’t no more. Des Her and Reece all love Corso.

Just posted this in the other thread but will repost it here.

LeBatard said it well when he stated that no one at ESPN is allowed to age as gracefully as Corso is. It is really cool to watch the other hosts work around him and pay him the respect he deserves for all he has done for that show and College Football.

That being said, we have to be able to laugh when he makes those cringe worthy mistakes

I have said for a while now that I think he should still be on the show, but not for the entire thing.    It would be cool if they just brought him on for the last hour and his pick.   He simply doesn’t know enough about college football anymore to be on there for the entire time.   A lot of his commentary is just patently false.   He works well for like a show mascot, but him being a full member of the crew kind of discredit the show.

It's weak as hell and your wives and girlfriends are all f*cking worthier guys. . . with brains and hobbies and stuff while you sit in your mancaves in your jammies and moth-eaten Michigan gear and watch your paunches. But be our guest. . . carry on. Leaves more of the crowded planet for the rest of us.

I don't think he has to go, but he is pretty bad and really has no clue what he is talking about. That being said, after the intro I was out anyway. I have zero fucks to give about what they say or talk about on there. The only good thing other than the intro is Desomond (who will prolly get fired now because crazies will lose their mind, maybe not fingers crossed) and Maria Taylor who I see in my dreams. The whole talking about sports / hot takes on tv is dying in my opinion. Teenagers and young adults would rather do something else that doesn't make them look up from their phone.

Guy had a stroke, suffered partial paralysis and couldn’t speak for a month. Let him enjoy himself. If it means that much to you, you’re too invested in a dumb pregame show.

Miss State (football & basketball) get 3 years probation from NCAA ... not related, but newsworthy

While I agree that Corso is tough to watch at times and isn’t offering much in the way of insight, it’s clear (at least to me) that everyone who could remove him knows that once he’s not on the College Game Day set, he’ll pass away within a matter of months.  It’s a sad reality that plays out all over the country every day.  As much as I dislike ESPN, and assuming I’m correct (which I am because it’s my opinion), I find his continued presence touching and that it kind of restores a bit of my faith in the humanity of those running media.
