Nice swim move

That arrow pointing out where he is onscreen is almost not necessary.

Mo Hurst but (much) bigger.
October 6th, 2021 at 8:25 AM ^
Yes, he has dominant size and strength given the competition.
But it also appears he has pretty good speed, agility, etc.
October 6th, 2021 at 8:29 AM ^
So, yeah, kid seems pretty good at the DL thing. Is this what's considered nice? It's been so long...

Awesome title. Yea the film is impressive.

Andrean, Michigan City, and Valparaiso are all legit. Planning on seeing him play Friday.
October 6th, 2021 at 9:07 AM ^
Holy F. Dude has great feet and twitch, regardless of the competition, and moves like someone 100 lbs lighter. Going to be a beast!

I like his solution to stopping the read option. Swallow (almost literally) both the RB and QB at the same time so there is nothing to read or option!
I do want to see a little more bend because his pure strength is destroying guys right now but if someone can get under his pads at the next level it might take him a while to adapt. In some ways I liked his OL highlights just as much. And he might be able to make the FG block unit day 1.

Should we consider him at fullback? Grant/Barrett thunder/lightning
October 6th, 2021 at 6:12 PM ^
Naaa-he's the tailback. Whittley/Grant...lots of thunder.
October 6th, 2021 at 9:14 AM ^
Almost seems the video is playing at 1.5X speed.
October 6th, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
Nah.
They tried to run a read opt - a vee - the QB was trying to hand the ball off to the RB but he engulfed both of them while they were trying to figure out who would keep the ball. He was tackling one with his left arm and the other with his right arm for 3 seconds.
As Lucas Lee would say...heh heh heh. That's actually hilarious

Haven’t seen moves and nimble feet from our DTs since Branch. At 02:51 Grant pulls and levels a kid…then belly smashes him. Glad to have him on the squad!
October 6th, 2021 at 9:21 AM ^
Yep, he's a man among boys in high school but he's going to get a very rude awakening when he enters college where guys will be as big if not bigger, better conditioned and stronger, and have better technique. Many on here are smaht enough to know that HS tape is meaningless. But, let's hope he is that one in a million type of recruit that can come in, adapt fast, and be the type of unstoppable playmaker we have yet to see. That would be nice for a change.

I assume Alabama, OSU, Georgia, Clemson, etc. will continue to recruit this kid, or will start doing so.

The big man has more pancakes than IHOP.
October 6th, 2021 at 9:57 AM ^
This video is impressive but......what the hell are other teams doing? On a lot of the plays no one even TRIES to block him.
He has impressive mobility for a huge guy. Maybe teams figure they can't block him so they aren't trying?
October 6th, 2021 at 10:05 AM ^
Man he looks big and fast!
But are you sure those aren't highlights of Charles Jefferson?
Still working on those Earth, Wind and Fire tickets for him and his little brother...
October 6th, 2021 at 10:22 AM ^
That big and moves that well. That’s a rare combo.
October 6th, 2021 at 11:11 AM ^
Am the only one who finds this video hilarious!? I've been laughing at those poor souls that have to block him for the last three minutes. The best is when he pancakes the DL while he is playing OL and then just dead-weight drops on them.....
October 6th, 2021 at 11:45 AM ^
How did the first kid not become instantly dead?
October 6th, 2021 at 11:54 AM ^
One of the rare times a highlight reel doesn’t need an arrow pointing to the player.

I had to block a couple of guys in high school who were 6'5" or 6'6" and well over 300 pounds. At 5'9 180 I crushed them because they were soft lack-of-effort guys. Not the case with Kenneth Grant. Though it doesn't appear that anyone even attempted to block him. Lots of blocked kicks.
October 6th, 2021 at 3:44 PM ^
It's weird--on a lot of those plays no block on him is even attempted Yeah, he swim-moves around some of them, but on several, no one even tried to slow him down. Weird--I don't really understand what the o-line is doing on several of these plays. At least make him slow down a bit.
On those punt blocks, the effort on the o-line is terrible. On one of them TWO guys just give him a tiny shove and then run on down the field blocking NO ONE while he goes and easily blocks the kick. I can't believe they EVER get a punt off with play like that. He's literally the only guy rushing the punter and they still don't even try to block him.

I played against a guy like that in high school though not as big but probably quicker. We were starting a sophomore center and this guy just dominated him. I was playing fullback and there were a few times I was tackled on a dive play just after getting the handoff. Long night.

Good idea.
Michigan would have it's 2 for the 2-5.
October 6th, 2021 at 9:28 PM ^
Will need a ton of technique work, especially on pad level, but wow that is Impressive athleticism by the big man.
October 6th, 2021 at 9:50 PM ^
he can swim
October 7th, 2021 at 5:40 AM ^
No one seems eager to block him. He is huge!!!!...watching this film reminds me how Kramer dominated his karate class. (yes, that was Seinfeld reference)
