That's disappointing
Got word today that Michigan soph DB Keith Washington gave word of his plan to transfer. Stay tuned for more on this story in hours to come. pic.twitter.com/00BUlNeip8

Also works well as a metaphor for a few MGoUsers clinging to their terrible "political" position in the MGoTwitter thread a few days back.

you're ak47. Every day is a rough day for expectations and we're going to lose every game forever in your world.
Wake me when someone rational posts.

Bullshit!!!!. Zordich is a honest guy and isn't about no bullshit, so let's listen to what he said. Open your ears, please. He said, I am not even concerned about the safety position. He also said, Lavert Hill is really good and has one CB spots locked down. We just need one of these other really talented guys who have shown flashes to just become a little more consistent, like my man Lavert who is really really good. It is all going to get worked out, but I want to see some seperation from a lot of really talented guys. Who wants to be my other all-american because Hill has easily that type of potential. Brad Hawkins is the guy I was trying to think of. I wonder where he is on the depth chart. I think he is going to surprise. Maybe I have more faith in our coaching staff, but with the talent level at Michigan and the best staff ever I feel pretty good about the outcome of the 2017 season. Just another tidbit. Dinardo who is usually looking for holes in Michigans team got a eye opener and immediately put Michigans D-line next to osu. He is usually pretty honest and you could tell he saw a Michigan team taking a back seat to no one. Hate all you want but I am all in on a very good Michigan team.

why Zordich seemed a little frustrated during that interview.

Cue the "insert one of our receivers at CB" thread in 3...2....1

Not happening.
Unless it's Nate Johnson...wait, should be look at Nate Johnson?
In all seriousness this hurts depth (badly) more than anything. I never bought he was going to be a starter - I think people were excited about the spring game because he played well and their expectations weren't high.
But that doesn't mean he wasn't going to play...and a lot. In the spread offense world, you use the NB formation and he easily could've been #3.
Now it's set, Hill/Long/Watson and no Washington to push those 3 or replace them if they're not cutting it. This hurts.
Ambry Thomas is going to have to grow up in a hurry...EAT kid, EAT!!!

If we're remotely serious - I'm getting there after scanning the depth chart - could we get Moe Ways worked into the bottom of the CB rotation if he's not seeing the light of day on offense?

He's the only other option, but we're kind of thin on the outside and we have a ton of slot guys...that's why I said Johnson.
Can't move anyone else unless you just want someone like DPJ to play both ways some. Too early in his career to do that.
But when we have Perry, Martin, Schoenle, and McDoom in the slot (+ a ton of TEs and FBs)...that's the only reason I halfway said Johnson.

Moe Ways might be too lanky (6'4") despite the apparent preference toward taller CB's. So, nevermind.

And the other kid is killing it and I can't think of his name and it is pissing me off. He transfered over from wr and went to a prep last year. That kid is a beast.

Don Brown was praising his progression a couple weeks ago in an interview. Granted that was a couple weeks ago

I had him as a breakout player this year. He looked like he finally got it together in the spring game. I hope it is nothing too serious. Seems like Ambry Thomas is going to get more game time reps than previous expected.

He heard all the statues of him were going to be taken down, and he just quit football. Can't handle it...

I'm starting to see how this may be this years 3-9 meme. So far it's still funny though.

BSJ and Ambry are going to get some PT this year. This will be good for them and their future. We will be fine gentlemen - no worries. Good thing for us is that we don't really face any big time arms this year.

Uh oh

the staff had moved him to safety

As far as cause-and-effect is concerned, this anecdote is getting way too little play right now.

I swear on everything holy, if he says he's transfering to UCLA...I'll take a hostage.

"Guys?"

Have to think if he thought he was going to start or be on the field all the time as a nicklel he wouldn't be transferring right now. The timing of this to me suggests he doesn't like his place on the depth chart going into fall so he decided to save a year and start the transfer process now.

Prattville was producing a bunch of prospects and one of the better programs in Alabama, but it looks like their program has fallen off in the last year or two. HC Bill Clark left in 2008 and program been in decline since.
Michigan has still had success there with 2 current players from Alabama. Hard to get Michigan-quality players from AL with two SEC in-state schools.

No more redshirt for St.-Juste?
CB
1. Lavert Hill (So.)
2. Ambry Thomas (Fr.)
3. Benjamin St.-Juste (Fr.)
CB
1. David Long (RS Fr.)
2. Brandon Watson (RS Jr.)
3. Drake Harris (RS Jr.)
August 21st, 2017 at 5:21 PM ^
I guess a red shirt for Ambry Thomas is not even a possibility anymore.
