Wash socks?
Nope. No showers either.
Someone on twitter dot com said that absent a waiver (which presumably was given today) wearing shorts that are a different color from the jersey is a technical foul.
Kind of like the uniforms in Hoosiers
I wouldn't want to be guessing what they look like or be ill informed. So I would need to see some close-ups and some wide angle views, maybe enlarged to life size.
Wouldn't be an issue tomorrow. Purdue, as the higher seed, is presumably wearing white. We'd wear blue. I'm assuming that jerssey was reversible.
THAT'S A TECHNICAL FOUL
Like the one that got called up in Minnesota, right?
At the beginning of today's game, the announcers mentioned something about the B1G waiving its uniform requirements for this game, for obvious reasons.
That to me indicates that they'll only be able to use them until such time as the "B1G compliant" unis are available. However, I'd imagine that any investigation into the plane wreck won't be complete before they can unpack the plane and get them to D.C.
Practice unis, "white-collar" quotes, STREET FIGHT. Whatever it takes to WIN THE GAME!
I don't see what's wrong with them.
They have front and back numbers and look good.
edit: Did not know about the tech rule. That's dumb. I thought they look nice.
I was going to ask a more important question - Did your head asplode when you saw the practice uniforms? Glad you survived that.
I'm just happy we made it and played the game.
I'm usually not a we/they pedantic ass but in this case..."they" made it. And they played.
Until the investigation into the plane crash deems it okay to remove items from the plane, UM will not be wearing their regular unis (at least the ones that are on the plane). I'd assume they'll be in practice jerseys for the remainder of the BT tourney. NCAA tourney who knows - one would hope that new uni's could be special ordered over the course of a week so they'd be available for the NCAAs.
They are not getting back on that plane anytime soon. FAA/NTSB investigations take a long time. If they get new jerseys, they'll probably be brand new from Nike.
Might have no choice. Investigation still ongoing.
Michigan has no idea if it will get uniforms for tomorrow's game. Given that it tips in 21 hours, I say expect the practice jerseys again.

is so wonderful, they would have new uniforms in our hands before the game tomorrow. No reason to wait until the plane is unpacked. I am surprised there has been no mention by them about expiditing some new ones to the team already.
Word on the street is that Nike keeps calling Warde, but he's too busy sitting on his fat ass to give them a call back.
I think I'm the only one that is hoping we wear regular jerseys when we have the chance. It would really show how confident this team is and has been for the last month. This game didn't turn anything around, we've been the best team in the Big Ten for a month now. Switching back would saying "These jerseys are nothing, we're just a great basketball team"
I get none of that from a new jersey. How about they are playing better basketball because they are?
this isn't a cinderella team that's trying to catch lightning in a bottle, this is a razor sharp team that's playing excellent basketball right now. Bring back the jersey's that have won 6 of 8 games before today.
I don't care if they wear pink tutus, I was so friggin' happy to see those kids out there playing basketball with joy today. I think we came very close to losing them all last night. I've been haunted by that thought all day. We all dodged a big one.
making Delaney look like even more of a fool.
Besides, I'll probably wear the same wardrobe from now until Sunday, they can too
practice unis are flying off the shelves of M Den. Gotta get my blue collar cred.
If they don't have them in stock, rest assured they're on the way. LoL.
They do not. I checked.
They did just unload their tournament shirts.
Horrendous
Don't you collect every on-court/field/ice uniform you can? If you can't get this one would it bother you?
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs in Michael Jordan's heyday and am therefore totally obsessed with him, and find the "weareJordan" hashtag stupid and offensive. It's one thing to have the logo on our gear. It's another thing to be advertising for him by name.
Thought it said #wearJordan.
Either way, It's the sort of thing we'd associate with Brandon. Besides being dang ugly, that thing down the arm.
You did the right thing. Run it by the various Athletic Directors on the blog who have a better sense of how things work.
Sneaky clever way to get upvotes too! Well done. :-)
Way better than last season's lame roadkill / tire-tread look.
no wonder Spike had hip problems. He was run over by a truck.
can someone confirm Drake Johnson was wearing that when he was run over by the hilo?
I was going to type that I miss Spike, but then I remembered that we play against him tomorrow.
think that they could have some new jerseys made in a rush in next 20 hours. But thats just me.
I don't know. Can you send stuff overnight from Sri Lanka? Those little kids better get to work!
The part of me that played baseball for years and, like many baseball players, had various rituals which I knew were nonsense but somehow helped me focus and stay sane in the right moments says.....yeah, wear the lucky jersey.
In reality, I am sure they won't because I assume spares are available and on their way from Ann Arbor, but I like the thought.
I have a feeling the team may have bonded more and feel like they're on a mission after the event. I hope that uniforms are the last thing on their mind right now.
I would certainly keep wearing them. Is there a white or blue set as well?
Nike is likely working on a replacement set for this and next weekend. It would be interesting to know what is going on right now. Does Nike/the school have enough replacements? Is the Michigan Maize color in stock, or are they special enough that they would have to be fabricated? Is the design custom for Michigan, or could Nike use a template like they have for most teams? How does the Jordan brand affect all this? Would Nike/Michigan be willing to "settle" for a generic jersey design if that's the easiest to make available to the team or will either side think that is unacceptable for a Jordan name brand? These are all my burning business questions that I will likely never get fully answered.
If we can't get uniforms, we can just run skins.
I don't see how it's that difficult for Nike/Jordan to get them new game unis for tomorrow. Were only talking fifteen guys. It's like like 115 like in football. But then again Adidas 2013.So you never know. Hell, MDen could get them could overnight some authentic unis and waive the shipping fee. It'd be weird to see 15 guys wearing number one and number seventeen jerseys.
This is only 3/4 sarcastic.
