Karan Higdon considering the NFL Draft?

Submitted by MichiganSports3 on

Obviously, a player needs to weigh all options, but it would really suck for Michigan if Higdon declares. He was one of the few bright spots in this anemic offense. In reading the rest of the article, it sounds like he'll be back but I was surprised he was even considering it to begin with.

HB is generally the easiest position to translate to the NFL.  Karan had some huge games for us this year.  He has the talent.  I wouldn't be mad at him if he declared, but I sure hope it works out for him if he does.

I never had to make a decision like this, so I can't really speak to how difficult it might be. However I can say that I don't think that Higdon is quite ready yet, and could really benefit from another year in the program, another year of s&c and another year of learning pass Pro. I definitely think he is nfl-bound at some point, but I think he can work his way into the third round if he sticks it out for another year.

If the preseason combine Michigan did last spring is any indication, his 40 time is no faster than a 4.65.  I can't imagine an NFL team drafting a guy his size with a 40 that slow.  He'll almost certainly be back.
