Thanks for the video,i was wondering what Mark Turgeon was talking about ,when he said "i went to BIG10 and they know whats going on" I think its that Howard leaves the coaching box during games, .
Mark Turgeon has been great for Maryland basketball .... but he seems like a WUSS .if i was a Maryland fan i wouldve lost all respect for him after this press conference , He seems like a prima-donna PUSSY that runs to "higher ups" first chance he gets . and will never fight his own battles ..clearly he "steps at Howard" then hes like "oh shit" and he quickly moves player #11 in front of him .... if you taped the game ,you will see this during replays

You also can't be mad at Juwan for blasting back cause Maryland can't even get a banner in swimming to hang.
Came here to say the same! I've had this on in the background with no sound. Flipped back and saw him losing it, but didn't see why.

volume wouldn't have helped any. the announcers were just as clueless about the ejection as we are.
Just saw the replay - he was PISSED! But I have no idea why - can't watch every second at work, or hear any of it. A little help from someone???
Announcers aren’t sure. I didn’t hear anything live caught on the mic during the broadcast. He seemed to be approaching the Maryland bench or HC at a time out. He was still calm but not sure why he was headed that way. Then either a Maryland player or the HC said something and he totally lost it. It was really strange. It was a chippy game but at that particular timeout there didn’t seem to be an altercations.

Turgeon is a jackass regardless, but it had to have been something else. No way Juwan is that soft to react that way based off of that comment. That's light work compared to some of the trash talk he's heard over his career
Plus why in the world would banners come up at that point in the middle of a game? Would make more sense if an MSU player/coach said it when we beat them last Thursday
I'm with you, no way such an inane comment like that could have caused JH that much grief. I've never seen him that mad... My initial thought was that someone said something racial - as hard as is to believe someone in basketball would go there, it happens.
Yeah, whatever was said that is not the action of someone who is soft... And whether racial or not, he clearly said someone about banners.

I find it hard to believe this would’ve irritated Howard as much as it did. The Fab five is pretty unapologetic. I also don’t think Turgeon is clever enough to come up with something like that on the spot. Who knows though.
You think the Fab Five are cool with the banners being taken down? Their legacy was - officially - wiped out. I certainly could see that getting under his skin. Particularly since he, personally, wasn't even implicated.
Does it look like I said that. I said they’re unapologetic. Meaning I don’t think Juwan cares what no name Turgeon thinks about his college days. I also don’t think Juwan would have acted like that if it was a petty put down. Juwan has more self confidence than that. Whatever was said was a direct threat to himself or his players.
Well, Juwan could have taken it as a shot at his current team as if they are cheating etc.
That's what I thought - it was double-edged; a Fab 5 reference and the unfounded notion that Juwan and Michigan are suddenly cheating and that is the reason for their success. That is likely more insulting than the Fab 5 side of it and likely would offend Juwan (although it's still kind of tepid).
Whoever tweeted that at Balas was either a Sparty, Buckeye or Illini fan.
What cracks me up is in the past couple of years Maryland has been investigated by the FBI in relation to recruiting violations and admitted to violations regarding an assistant coach. Like, if I'm Turgeon maybe I should focus on something else to talk shit about.
Turgeon must think we all have short memories--he played for Larry Brown at KU and was around for the violations that almost got them a one-year "death penalty."
Its a double insult. Its meant to insult Howard and the fab five but also he’s talking about this team and this team’s Big10 banner. Its the latter disrespect of this team that Howard is reacting to.
Did anyone actually hear this? I rewatched and turned my sound up all the way and couldn’t hear anything. Most of the court side mics are turned off at timeouts too. Unless there is a different feed not on BTN.

One of the Maryland coaches said something personally disgusting - no other reason could cause Juwan to do that.

Watching it again, it was Turgeon who initiated. When Turgeon starts yelling at Howard you can see him change his demeanor. Never been a fan of Turgeon. Glad we handed them 3 Ls this year. How's that go? Can you hold this L for me?
Either way, agree on the Morsell being trash. He was trying to instigate from the opening play of the second half. Sometimes you instigate the other team to win.
