Jordan Poole '17 Commit in Championship Game on ESPN

Submitted by NJblue2 on

Decided I start another thread since Jordan Poole is playing again. Right now he's 0-2 and his team is down 15-10 to Montverde, which is a juggernaut.

I guess I didn't realize how dam stacked his team was one of the top 25 sophomores in the country along with Jackson and Bowen. and the other guy who I think committed to Illinois. Bowen though wish he liked Michigan but he would need to cut the hair just looks terrible to me. All the schools he is interested in seem to have rumors about players getting money to come to their school. His game though seems perfect for Michigans offense he could play the 3 easy and maybe the 4 if they go small.

I think Beilein will find a role for Poole next season.  He's much smaller than Duncan Robinson, but seems long and offers a very similar skillset on offense.  Also - I knew about his shooting, but he has better ballhandling skills than I expected.

I know there's a huge contigent frustrated with JB's recruiting, but I really like the potential of this 2017 class.  Brooks, Poole and Livers all fit very well into JB's system and all are quality athletes.

Actually caught part of this game at the local athletic center, and I did like what I was seeing from Jordan Poole - he seems like he'll fit nicely into Beilein's system.

There were one or two people on the MGoBlog site on their phone near me, I noticed. We are indeed everywhere, even here in little old Romulus.

He has a very smooth outside shot, knocking down a few three clutch threes from NBA range.  The announcers kept commenting that he was one of the best three point shooters in the class.  Just what we need!  And he seemed to have decent handles and athleticism so I doubt he'll be just a shooter.  And he had a great defensive game as well with a couple huge steals and one forced turnover!

If Brooks turns out to be a solid PG  (he did get a Nova offer), this is shaping up to be a great class.    We also have Michigan Mr.  Basketball Livers and the elite Kentucky transfer Matthews.
