Joe Milton having himself a night

Joe Milton living up to his early hype, throwing some nice ropes to Tennessee receivers and currently beating Clemson. Good for the young man!

Normally I would feel the same way as you about these two teams, but I quickly found myself rooting for Joe Milton to succeed tonight, and by extension, Tennessee (a team I don't think I've ever rooted for previously).

OTOH, I'm rooting for laryngitis to beat the snot out of Joe Tessitore's voice.  I honestly would rather listen to Beth Mowins doing the play-by-play than Tessitore.

I go to a Michigan and Tennessee game each year. My brother went to UT. I have a good time in Knoxville. I have nothing but good experiences there with good fun people. It was nice to see Milton have a good game and that Tennessee offense is fun to watch. I only want Tennessee to lose when they play Michigan and I tell all of those VOLS, "the right guy got the Heisman in '97."

Happy to see he’s found a home and a place where he might be able to start next year. Or at least I presume he’s got another year of eligibility left. Didn’t work out for him here but it looks like his transfer worked out for both Michigan and himself.

So pleased for him. He wasn't ready for the job in A2 in 2020. But he accepted being #2 at UT after Hooker took over, instead of doing a Clovis and transferring to 4 schools in 4 years.

That last pass for a TD was what we hoped to see vs. Sparty in 2020.

We have JJ for next year and UT has Joe III - life is great and so is the beer tonight!

He's pretty good friends with Hendon Hooker and his family.  Apparently, they've taken him in as family and do as much for him as they do for their own son.  Great to have people like that helping out when you're a kid several hundred miles from home.

Don't take whatever Tessitore said as a slight towards Michigan.  Give the credit to Hooker and his family.

Good to see.  He didn’t break through at Michigan, but wish him success.  Wish we’ll for all Former Michigan players but still hope TN more time in the dessert.

Always pull for guys who played for UM but maybe starred elsewhere. Zach C at UCLA, etc.

Joe posted this upon his exit:

"I want to thank coach [Jim] Harbaugh for giving me that opportunity to come play for a program with lots of tradition," he wrote. "I have bonds with my brothers that will last forever. I have decided to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer with three years of eligibility.

Cade K looks like he would have benefitted from being the starting QB all year. These mistakes tonight could have been worked out vs. Va Tech.

I'm really happy JH and team didn't rush JJ into the lineup as a starter last year. Our Cade Mc was ready to lead a team and allow JJ to be a great starter this year, especially end of year.

You can tell he still doesn’t have much pocket awareness or instincts as a runner, but I’ll be darn that kid can throw a football. Fun seeing him play.

Someone remind me if he talked trash on his way out or not. I’ll be a neutral party if he did, and rooting for him if not.

I’m very happy for Milton’s success. He left the BIG10 and went to a weaker, easier, conference the SEC.

He proved he was good enough to be a starter and won an orange bowl. Good job Milton!
