Jim Harbaugh refers to NFL rumors as "warmed up oatmeal"
Jim Harbaugh calls questions about himself and NFL jobs reheated oatmeal: ‘I’m not a big fan’ https://t.co/gPtKEJyEI6
— Nick Baumgardner (@nickbaumgardner) December 28, 2017
"I'll just move on to the next question," Harbaugh said, when asked about the latest slew of Harbaugh-fueled NFL talk.
"That's like warmed up oatmeal."
"Or you can compare it to something that's rehashed or warmed back up," Harbaugh said. "It's not good anymore. Oatmeal is the first thing that comes to mind.
"I'm not a big fan of warmed-up oatmeal."

But what about Lane Kiffen? There's a rumor going around he really wants the job.
December 28th, 2017 at 2:09 PM ^
Who's Lane Kiffen?
December 28th, 2017 at 2:13 PM ^
He's the guy who is as probable as Lane Kiffin is to become Michigan's coach.

I think he meant Lance Kiffin

'cause only a fool would let a yummy glass of whole mile curdle.
December 28th, 2017 at 2:44 PM ^

Warmed up coffee for me. Hate it. Ruins it.
At my last job, some guys would take their coffee from the previous day, warm it up and drink it before getting a fresh cup in the morning. They were extremely frugal or terrorists.

I am not a morning person at all so the rare times I come in and I have coffee leftover in my mug on my desk, I'll usually just drink it cold on my way to the coffee station.

or is this coffee they purchased and brought into the office?
Also, if you're drinking leftover coffee but also leaving coffee at the end of the day, can't you just shift your consumption pattern so you're starting with a fresh cup and finishing your last cup? The intake would be the same, right?
This is all so astounding to me.

No coffee provided. We were allowed to bring in our own coffee makers and brew our own but we had to buy the grounds. So, as a dev team, we purchased a coffee maker and rotated buying the grounds.

What if you have one of those special USB powered mug warmers? Someone at a gift exchange I was at got one of those.
December 28th, 2017 at 5:17 PM ^
I actually just got one of those at my office gift exchange this year. It's good for keeping stuff hot if you're a slow drinker, but I haven't tried reheating coffee/tea with it, that's an interesting thought.

Experiment update - it took about and hour and a half to get cold water up to what I would consider suitably warm/drinkable temperature for coffee/tea (though not hot enough to steep tea in my opinion). So, yes, this would work as a way of reheating coffee.

If by "warmed up oatmeal" (i.e., reheated), we're talking about something unfathomable and kind of gross, then yeah, that's basically what the continued "Harbaugh to NFL" parade of clickbait actually is, in my opinion.
December 28th, 2017 at 2:24 PM ^
I am sure there are some NFL teams interested in Jim , but then people (mainly NFL media pundits and rival fans) automatically interpret that as Harbaugh is interested in going back to the NFL (which people like us that follow valauable inside sources like JUB, Webb, and Bilas know that there's nothing indicating all that he's going back to the NFL)

This was an answer by Jim during his Outback Press Conference today. Media had a big laugh.
