Ding ding ding!

Also, what Harrison really said is that he was doubled more than he ever had been before. “I don’t know if I’ve gotten doubled more in a game than today,” he said. “The safety help they had over top or inside — I’ve never seen anything like it until today. The bracket coverage in the red zone that we got, we got doubled a lot more today than I ever have before.”

That's awesome, and a wonderful achievement by the Michigan defense. But it's simply not correct to say that Harrison said he had never seen a defense so "complex."

So you want Honda McCord throwing into constantly disguised double coverage all day?  Do you think Michigan's secondary is a bunch of scrubs?  If the coverage is there, you'll be lucky to get away with an incompletion.  Nine targets is a testament to just how good he was covered...

IIRC, MHJr. did not say that Michigan’s defense was the most complex, but his actual quote was saying he hadn’t been doubled covered as consistently all season. As in, Michigan chose to send a CB/Safety combo with MHJr. all game regardless of where Harrison was lining up in the formation.

other Big Ten teams would defend Harrison depending on where in the formation he was lining up… Michigan decided to just keep two guys on him regardless of the formation.

I haven’t watched enough UGA football to know if it’s more complex but it is very complex, ran by good coaches and executed by high level players.  They run various switches and had an interesting double spy against Milroe, which I’ve never seen before You can see that here: https://youtu.be/zcND_EhVSs4?si=JFJNHIBKPJBsrfnq

Since we are talking about George-ass.  I'm going to also drunk post.  In order ensure that I was greatly pleasured, I rewatched the TCU game.  From my amateur viewpoint, I believe that missing Corum was the difference in the game.  Neither the Philly Special, or the fumbled handoff to Mullings would have occurred if he were in the game... we would have simply run it up the gut.  It also jumps off the screen how Michigan's Defensive line is superior this year.  I'm feeling confident about this upcoming Rose Bowl.  Go Blue!

Looking forward to that contest on January 1st.

Nothing against Milroe - from what I’ve seen in press conferences - he carries himself well and definitely is talented.   My hope is for Minter to dial things up that no one has seen before.

Go Blue!

Without having played Michigan yet how does he know Michigan is more physical than Georgia.  Isn't physicality something you would need to experience on the field?

This just sounds like Saban whispering in his ear to only say good things about everyone and this was a spur of the moment say something type of answer.

Good topic, good conversation. But this is just boilerplate anti-bulletin board material. Hopefully, Mr. Milroe will discover a defense that is both physical AND complex in the extreme. That's what I think we have with Minter directing our players.
