It feels like the night before Christmas
Thats right folks. Tomorrow is the day we open up our present (and it's Mitch McGary all wrapped up with a blue bow). It's been a long time coming. I've been following UM Basketball since 1985. The last 13 years have been an absolute nightmare for even the most die hard of UM fans. We've experienced basketball purgatory first hand. I look back at those Daniel Horton teams under Amaker that never made the NCAA's. Or thinking that Lavell Blanchard would be the next Glen Rice. Or the back court of Avery Queen and Gotfredson. Or losing out on Alex Legion only to get him and then lose him again. Or thinking that Petway was the next coming of Harold Miner. Or pinning our front court hopes on the likes of JC Mathis. Or feeling hopeless when Manny Harris opted for the NBA.
Lord knows we've paid our dues. And all of that bad shit finally ends tomorrow. The future has never looked brighter...

it's your fault, for I admittedly have a small penis and therefore can be superstitious.

To those more in the basketball know: is Mitch MgGary more of a one and done type player? He certainly has a lot of skill, and I can't blame him should he choose to persue the NBA after his first year if that option is there. I just can't get too excited about a one and done player because unless they help you win the NC their first and only year, they don't help you build a program at all.

I hope all the scouting foks are right and the he goes Blue. The Dukes (and UNC, Kentucky, Kansas and UConn) of the world are always in on top 10 recruits, so let us have this one. Yes, I didn't included Michigan State, for while they are an elite Tournament team, they do not recruit on the same level as these other programs.

If McGary commits to Michigan it will be a huge get for our team but we won't know until tonight. People jumping the gun is always funny to read here because if he chooses Duke these boards will blow up.
I rather just be happy that Michigan has a new player center, updated arena, and we seem to be competing for top recruits. Our team has shown progress and is steadly getting better and should be fun to watch this year.

His points for coming to UM outwiegh the points for going to Duke. Here, he can put his stamp on the progam. At Duke, he gets lost in the shuffle. UM is closer to home and he has friends coming to UM. But the main point that swings Mitch to UM is Baccari Alexander. Mitch has had nothing but praise for Baccari working with big men, especially at UM. While I think UM is a better place for McGary, Baccari swings this deal.

Long story short, Mitch's Mom's Aunt is an RN who works with my girlfriend at a hospital in Massachusetts. My girlfriend just called to say that Mitch's Mom's aunt just got a call from Mitch telling her he would be joining the ranks of the maize and blue.
Not pretending to be an insider, just a male nurse who happens to be in the right place at the right time.
