The Barwis Effect

Worst of both worlds.  Michigan will always be remembered for waving the white flag to keep OSU out of the B1G Championship, while OSU continues their charmed existence by getting to play in the B1G Championship despite not having played enough games to qualify.

Given that even an incredible loss to UM this year and OSU would still have qualified for the title game, this was the right call. I don't they will get past Bama and may get beat by 14+

Meanwhile, I still expect JH to get the kind of extension that Bacon mentioned.

Let's move on the hoops, hockey and baseball until we can see what will really happen next fall.

Not happy but not going to let it ruin my holidays.

OT:

1.  If Rutgers beats Maryland to go to 3-5 in the East and the Penn State-Michigan State game is canceled on Saturday, would Michigan at 2-4 finish ahead of Penn State at 2-5, despite Michigan losing to Penn State? Does it really matter?  Will those East vs. West cross-over games even be played?

2.  Would the Big Ten insist on playing the cross-over games just to get those games on TV because (a) three of the bowl games affiliated with the Big Ten have been called off for this season (Pinstripe, Quick Lane and Redbox bowls) and (b) it's unlikely that any Big Ten teams other than Ohio State, Northwestern, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and maybe Minnesota and the Rutgers-Maryland winner would be expected to play in bowl games?

Regarding integrity in CFB, it's difficult to discuss the variable state of something that does not exist.  Maybe a shred of integrity will blossom somewhere, but it will likely continue to be one giant cash grab.  I tried to think of a rebuttal to your recruiting remark, but it's pretty much spot on.

Well, this pretty much sums up the professional nature of college football. Come on, if you don't want to follow the rules you made up yourself, then why make them in the first place?

I am pretty much done with all those who argue about not paying the players. The only team who does that effectively is reaping the fruits. Everyone else is just licking their ass.
