First half thoughts:

Teske is a MAN out there. He contests so many shots, and is such a physical force.

Johns is showing more and more signs of being a player. He's got a big body, and his stroke is pretty smooth. Good minutes from him are really valuable to this team.

Iowa is just the team Michigan needed after Louisville - their jackrabbit, no D style of ball is just what the doctor ordered.

Garza is playing out of his mind. He's a crafty SOB, but such a liability on D. Davis/Wagner/Johns can't handle him; we need Teske. Keep attacking him; we'll get some calls.

I really like Michigan's ball movement - they're handling Iowa's press, and finding the open man.

Keep it up, boys - put them away!

Luka Garza is a walking offensive foul. Last time I checked, you can't use your elbows and dip your shoulders into a guy to force room to shoot. His flailing elbow to Castleton's face, while not blatantly intentional, certainly was still a flailing elbow. I don't know how you throw your arm up that high, at that angle, well above your shoulders, on accident. It was flailing, and he needs a warning at a minimum. I hated dudes that played that way and got away with it - usually only by terrible rec league officials.

Watching Garza work in the paint. He puts his foot between the defender's leg, under the center of gravity, pushes with his knee and hip, and flails around with his arms and elbows. Initiates all kinds of contact to make space. The hip and leg is one thing, but the arms and elbows...I don't know, man.

Yes, Garza’s been allowed to “create space,” which is announcer-speak for “commit offensive fouls without getting called.”

I mean, you don’t have to make every ticky-tack call, but when one team is getting an obvious advantage from a blatantly illegal tactic, you’d think the officials would notice.

God I hate these refs. Simpson clearly hit the ball. Wtf. Of course FS1 doesn’t show us another look, just like they didn’t on the iffy foul called on Simpson on that 3-pointer.

How do we always get dicked by refs at home?   Court side fans need to get way more belligerent as this shit needs to get called out.

I have a bad feeling about this game. We are playing no defense right now. We should have a bigger lead.
