Doubting this coaching staff or this teams exceptionalism (lol) BEFORE  the game is agreeably stupid.

Complaining about poor coaching, and a pathetically UNexceptional team after that shit show tonight is entirely valid.

I don't doubt they'll get to work tomorrow, but that game was ass.

not carrying this team to a championship. The OL is exactly what we expected - just a little above average. We never established any running game, Speight missed deep throw like early Rudock, and guys just didn't make plays. We lack playmakers at RB (or JH is playing the wrong guy) and just an OK line. Scheming can only get you so far, eventually guys have to produce in tight situations.

Speight is not a championship winning quality QB and we don't have a championship winning line. The talk about how Speight was a lock for the job next year was premature as he and the offense have failed to produce in our two toughest games.

Two toughest games???

It's just this one.

Offense was 6/6 on their first 6 drives in East Lansing and against Wisconsin (who has an elite defense, unlike Iowa) they should've scored 23. Not the O's fault we couldn't make field goals.

We were bad tonight but we have come a long way in less than 2 seasons.  I think Cole is better at Tackle than at Center and SP8 had a bad bad night but there is still a lot to play for.  Smith is a great pass blocker but is just not that dynamic in the run game.  I hope we get by Indiana but it is hard to see how we beat the Buckeyes without a couple more recruiting cycles.

Terrible play calling. The Peppers gimmick has been figured out. The offensive line didn't block for shit. Speight couldn't hit the deep ball, defense couldn't stop the run, and a couple of idiotic penalties. Welcome to chaos in the Big Ten East. Let's get this shit fixed, kick Indiana in the teeth, and get ready for those whores in Columpiss.

Speight was going to cost us a game eventually. It'd be a miracle if he didn't. I didn't think it'd be this game, but I knew it was coming. I assumed it'd be the OSU game or (the potential) playoff game. I'm not mad a Speight, he's a middling 3 star. He's done much better than I thought he would. We were on borrowed time.

Absolute shit. Long ball was there all game and Speight missed every. Single. Time. We hit a couple of those it's an easy W. Not to mention Kalis is solely responsible for the safety that was the difference in the final score. Oh plus some BS reffing.

Congrats guys, that was the worse effort I've seen since Harbaugh took over.

You're assuming that the safety didn't change the arc of the game and everything would have evolved the same way regardless. I think the safety had a huge impact on emotion and momentum and if Michigan avoids that and ends up punting, Iowa likely gets the ball at midfield and Michigan's chances of winning are much higher.

Can't get a 1st when we have to run the ball Speight missed long ball the entire difference in the game. 0-3. Chesson with a couple drops too

Completely blew it.  Chesson played like utter shit.  Utter fucking shit.  Speight can't throw on the road, period.  Honestly,, I could give a shit about losing to Iowa, but we're getting crushed by OSU.  Absolutely crushed.  We have sucked on the road for a fucking decade and we'll get smashed again.  We need an actual good QB.  No some cast off from some trash team that Harbaugh has to work magic on to make half-way decent but an actual QB.  Hoke set this team back years with his QB recruiting.  We have no viable QBs next year except a true freshman, which is to say we have none at all.

He'll be an RS Frosh just like Speight was.  He's supposedly more talented but he'll be heading up a team with a considerably worse defense so I'm guessing he'll be asked to do more than Speight has.  O'Korn improving seems like a low probability event at this point in his career.  Speight will probably improve, but his WR will be a down-grade and don't know how much improvement we can expect.  I don't think we'll have a playoff contender worthy offense until Peters is a RS Junior with some experience at the skill positions.  That's a long damn time from now.

Honestly I thought that all year. I'm not down on everything, our line isn't what the staff wants it to be yet, and qb recruiting under Hole has us limited for the time being.

That was a hungry Iowa team and one cold Michigan team. Speight was off. Ty Isaac and all TEs not named Jake Butt were underused. OLine missed assignments. We move on and beat IU. We're not quite on that Alabama elite level...close but not yet. If Speight is lights out and holes open up for our backs in 2 weeks, we may be able to run with OSU. They will score points on us but we have the playmakers to keep up. We'll see. And yeah this outcome sucks but we still have games to win.

I don't think the play calling was tight at all, we just missed the deep throw, couldn't run the ball, and misused peppers/Higdon/Smith/Isaacs. We never use Peppers as a decoy and he never throws the ball. The special teams back to back penalty coupled with the targeting call really threw the team off.

Poor blocking, not protecting the ball, a couple deep balls that were just off-target, running silly pitch plays and Peppers wildcat plays when a lot of downs called for hammering through 4 YPC on the ground.  Recipe for a loss on the road at Iowa in a night game no matter what kind of talent mismatch exists.

I feel like we spent too much time running up the middle or to a short left side of the field. I think Peppers was over 1/2 of the rushes to the right. Also surprised by lack of trickeration in the playcalling. We needed to get their line off balance, but never really changed things up. Also surprised by no deep crossing routes, he was overthrowing the deep ball an a crossing route might help Darboh adjust.

The running game was non existent tonight. It seemed Speight had a hard time throwing in the cold. I live in the state of Iowa and now I will never here the end of the taunts. We better beat OSU. God I need a drink.
