Iowa 5/6 against Michigan

Yet there seems to be very little outrage about this despite some controversial finishes and bitter defeats. One could argue that the loss to Iowa in 16 ruined the entire season considering Speights injury. The last two losses to Iowa are by a combined 4 points and both were on the road including a game winning field goal (16).

Ferentz is an excellent coach and the identity of Iowa is crystal clear. In all of the 5 recent losses to Iowa, I would say Michigan made far more self inflicted mistakes and got thoroughly out coached in each. Despite the recruiting gap between these teams Iowa has gotten the better of UM football as of late.

Ironically, Saturday's game will feature one of Ferentz's most talented teams and they match up VERY well with the Wolverines. The possibility of being 6/7 against the Hawkeyes is a real one. As a resident of Iowa (Iowa Alum) I watch them pretty regularly and I am not confident in Michigan's chances. Being in The Big House helps. How confident are you?

It is an opportunity to change the current national and local narrative about Michigan football.  We hope that it will be the pivotal game in our season that sees this team play up to its preseason billings.  If not, it could be a long dismal 2019.  We are about to find out just how good our coaching staff is in turning the page....

IF...

Michigan posts a score even remotely similar to the Rutgers conclusion... then the needle might move upwards slightly.

Even if Michigan does turn the ship around, the problem is that we've cried wolf too many times. No one will believe it's real until we show proof. A win over Iowa would be similar to learning how to stick the key in the proverbial hole and turn the engine over. Now if we kill PSU and ND, I'll consider Harbaugh got his sh*t together, and in proper heel & toe fashion blipped the gas and dropped the clutch, and we launch out of the proverbial pits of despair.

I'm mostly confident simply due to the schedule. This is our 4th hardest remaining game, possibly 5th (MSU?), meaning if we lose, we are looking at 7-5, maybe 6-6. That being said, there's no way we let that happen, right?
