I was about to question why in the hell they're playing 1pm on a Friday, then I realized what week it is. It still seems weird to be at 1pm and not at least in the evening. Man the playoffs end early up there with the snow and such. Texas still has 2-3 weeks left depending on the division.

Was their regular season schedule all that tough? Getting through the playoffs to the championship is obviously a big accomplishment, but that of course can be misleading; I remember two or three years ago when all the White brothers were at Livonia Stevenson and they got obliterated by Macomb Dakota in the finals. CC defense is ridiculous, so it's going to be a classic offense vs. defense game. Very interested in how it turns out.

their regular season schedule is so so. not great but not bad. Their playoff schedule has been very impressive though. with wins over Will Gholston's Detroit Southeastern and also Clarkston who i think was beating teams by an average of 20 points I believe. Stevenson has some good talent including carl davis ( a DT that made a verbal to Iowa. their true talent i think is in their wideouts who seem to be able to burn everyone. I hope they can pull it out. GO Titans! CRUSH IKE!

The Ike-Clarkston game was on the Comcast 900 Saturday night and I caught most of the 4th quarter. Not only did Clarkston fumble the ball with a minute to go when they were basically running out the clock, but with 8 seconds to go Ike was inside the Clarkston 15, completed a first down pass to the 2 or 3 yard line with 2 seconds on the clock, which stopped for the first down. When the clock started up again, IKE spiked the ball with 1 second to go to set up the game winning TD pass as time expired. However, the replay showed the snap was a clear fumble (that Clarkston recovered) and the ref prematurely blew his whistle because the Ike QB made the spiking motion with his hand even though he did not have the ball.

Lowell is a pretty solid team and has a pretty solid program. They are near Rockford, which is probably a bigger school, and they are supposed to play next year I think in the regular season. I'm not too sure this season, but Lowell is known to put up some points. They run a spread offense, IIRC. You should expect a pretty solid defense. Hate to stereotype here, but Lowell is a pretty rural and white farming community. Inkster is not. Inkster probably will have a speed advantage. Gardner should be able to run decently well. Should be a great game, regardless. I'll be watching this one. I'm almost thinking about going down to Ford Field for the game to watch the games even though Rockford lost two weeks ago.

is just as fast as Inkster. Inkster was supposed to have a speed advantage over EGR in the state championship last year but EGR blew them out of the water. Lowell is similar to EGR and EGR gave Lowell their only loss of the season. EGR shouldn't play in D3 since they're too good for their own division. They should be playing D2.

It was Lowell's performance in the 2002 state championship game (where they tore apart Brother Rice) that really brought the spread to Michigan HS football. Other schools were running it a lot too, but Lowell's version with Mark Catlin was devastating. So it became the offense de jour, supplanting the wing-T. A couple years later they got Keith Nichol at quarterback and it became even better. They're a system program, and their guys learn the system from an early age, so they're going to be tough to beat. And they've got some major speed. No, they won't have anyone nearly as fast as Gardner, but I doubt he breaks any long TD runs (30 yard runs, yes, not breakaways). No, I have no ties with anyone near Lowell, just have seen them play more than a few times over the years. They will be Inkster's toughest opponent to date, by far.

Although Lowell is a pretty solid team, I don't think they are "by far" better than Cleveland St. Ignatius or Cleveland St. Edwards, if better at all. Lowell would be the best opponent on a lot of team's schedules, but I don't know if there is a team in Michigan that played a schedule tougher than Inskter.

Hello, There are a number of threads about Tate/Denard/DG and who plays next year; really, you can't be serious about DG starting next year. RichRod noted earlier in the month that Tate runs about 1/4 of the offense...do you really think it a good idea to turn over the keys? Next year Tate opens the whole playbook.
